@willyraye119 @AngelMD1103 They’re not too stupid, “Linda”. When servers took your advice after COVID and got better jobs, what happened? Wait times for tables at sit-down restaurants went up considerably, to the point where many restaurants became takeout only, and y’all bitched about all of that too.
English

@AngelMD1103 It is always the servers complaining about tips but they are too stupid to walk away from employers who won’t actually pay living wages & benefits.
Customers need to stop falling for this scam and stop leaving tips. Employers should pay wages NOT us… like every other company.

A server in Toronto just went viral after sharing a story that has the internet split.
A group of diners asked to sit in her section; knowing they were “high maintenance.” Multiple orders, constant refills, special requests… the full experience. She handled it all, no issues, no complaints.
Bill comes out to $158.
They leave $160.
Then, tell her to keep the $1.30.
After everything.
She says the whole restaurant heard it… and honestly, it wasn’t even about the money anymore; it was the principle.
But here’s where it gets messy
Some people are dragging the customers, calling it disrespectful and embarrassing. Others are saying: “Why is tipping even expected if servers are already paid?”
So now the real debate isn’t about that table; it’s about the entire tipping culture.
Is this just bad manners… or proof that the system itself is broken?

@switchhalf The dance coach from Lulabelle’s Mommy and Me Dance Academy and the substitute broadcaster who drew the short straw so the other guys got sent to cover basketball.

@AngelMD1103 If Doordashers are independent contractors, they should be able to see how much they’re making from each order including tip so they can pick and choose based on those amounts. That way, the people who don’t tip get their orders last or denied because no Dashers are available.

He pulled up to the quiet suburban house after driving 35 minutes in traffic, juggling three orders at once. The food was still hot, the drinks hadn’t spilled, and he even double-checked the extra sauces. When he completed the delivery and saw the total payout , $2.75 with no tip, something in him snapped. He threw his hands up, started ranting in his car, and recorded a furious video about “customers who don’t value drivers.” I get that tipping is technically optional, but in gig work it’s often the difference between profit and loss. At the same time, crashing out at someone’s doorstep only hurts your own reputation. Maybe the bigger question is: should platforms like DoorDash structure pay in a way that drivers don’t feel like they’re gambling on kindness every shift?
Was his reaction over the top… or was it the buildup of gas prices, long waits, and feeling invisible that finally pushed him there?

@fs_gossips While we’re at it, let’s appeal the scores from 2023 Worlds where Madi Chock flat out FELL, their GOEs were not affected at all, and they won another World title over teams that skated clean programs.
English

In an Interview for Access Hollywood, Madison Chock and Evan Bates told that they would consider appealing the results of the ice dance individual event at the 2026 Olympic Games if there was such a possibility.
"It does beg the question, though. Is there a possibility - would you consider an appeal of the judge's decision?
Madison Chock: I mean, I suppose we would consider it. I think skating is such a subjective sport. But I do think that for fairness, it is good when the judges are reviewed for their work and not just after this competition, but every competition to just make sure that there's a fair and even playing field for all athletes."

@irish_olli22881 @jonomxr She had made several albums that were going nowhere when her podcast took off. She was going to leave music entirely when she decided to make the album she wanted to with a producer who lived within walking distance to her house. WYP was going to be her goodbye and it took off.

Jessie Ware was better when she made music that gay people liked, instead of now where she’s making music for gay people.

I Could Get Used To This is the first single from my new record & it’s out now. It is an invitation into the world of this album; romance, real love, performance, celebration and pleasure (always!) in a garden full of gods and goddesses. jessieware.lnk.to/icgutt

@EdmarResurrecc1 And she just went seven seconds faster than that OR tonight for the 2nd fastest time in history behind….well, herself

Katie LeDecky in the 1500M Freestyle. Her domination at this Olympic event is unreal.
Like look at this. Literally no other swimmer near her in this frame.

What's a sports performance that will never be repeated?
English

@BrownBoyFilms @BBTeamNorth She did it because she was tired of singing sad songs that no one showed up to listen to and was about to leave music altogether and focus on the podcast. WYP was made within walking distance to her house and was going to be her going out with a bang. She never expected this.
English

@BBTeamNorth I feel like she did it just for Gay Icon status, doesn’t feel genuine to her brand as Adele lite

@BuzzingPop US-made shows are now written with “second-screen viewing” in mind, which is where everything is simplified and/or telegraphed so you can scroll on your phone while (not) watching the show. Heated Rivalry succeeds because it allows the beats to breathe, requiring your attention.
English

François Arnaud says he doesn’t believe ‘Heated Rivalry’ could have been created in the US in new CBS morning interview:
“It was [pitched] to big streamers before, and they had so many notes and so many thoughts about what the show could be that Jacob [Tierney] decided to leave them and get it made in Canada. Granted, a much smaller budget, but he was like, ‘I can do the show I want to make.’ I think this is what people are responding to. It’s a huge lesson for Hollywood people— that this is a niche show with no movie stars, and it’s become a much bigger sensation. They didn’t want any kissing until episode five.”

@Sadmethod We’ve been eight boats deep like this in Split before. It’s called rafting. Also, when you do cross boats to go ashore or come back from shore, never EVER cross through a boat’s kitchen. It’s seen as the ultimate form of disrespect and could result in a fistfight.
