@lescarletwoman Exactly that. It feels very much built off of a description of Toronto that doesn’t really exist to those that actually live there. Also don’t get me started on the sceptre “ball” looking awfully close to the “male” symbol… no one picked up on that in the design process?

@heywade88 I know, the bunch of logos really are disappointing and it feels like quite a let down. And Toronto's in particular because they're trying to relate every part of the logo back to a moniker that isn't even used by Torontonians!

I have never in my life heard Toronto referred to as the "Queen City". I'm also not sure why anyone would want their brand identity to randomly pay homage to Queen street...??

The Sceptres "embodies Toronto's regal history" and pays homage to Queen Street and the nickname Queen City. "The ornamented Sceptre itself is a symbol of power and strength found in courts and palaces. Today, it will be wielded on the ice by Toronto’s hockey royalty."

@NanLawson The Beaches are bit further from downtown but are a nice getaway. The Island was already mentioned – go on a weekday, that would be best (real popular, less crowded). Lots of places to just walk and eat and shop really. You won’t have a problem filling your days! (2/2)

@NanLawson All the food. Amazing, eclectic food across the city. St. Lawrence Market is a great time with local vendors. Blue Jays games are fun regardless if you’re a sports fan or not (Sundays are “kid specific” days). Ripley’s Aquarium is actually great for families. (1/2)
