If I offered my fiance to do this at the wedding, I would never hear the end of it 🥲

Dear Australians,
Today you find yourself facing a new reality, a reality never before witnessed in Australia.
Today Australians can face jail if they say something the government doesn't like. Australians can also face jail time if they are a member of an organisation the government doesn't like.
Whilst many will say "these laws only target extremists" (or words to this effect), the reality is that the definition of "extremist" is entirely subjective. Others will say "these laws are designed to lower hatred", the reality is that the definition of "hatred" is also entirely subjective.
During #COVID19 we had government leaders describing those who disagreed with them as "extremists" - so, next time, those who oppose the government may well be put in jail. If we ever have a vegan Prime Minister, will they jail anyone who advertises their business' steak restaurant?
This is an extremely dark day for Australia. These laws would not be out of place in North Korea, the USSR, China, or any other authoritarian country. They are entirely out of place in Australia.
What makes it even worse is that these laws were enacted with the support of the Liberal Party (@LiberalAus). The party of Robert Menzies just enacted a law that Robert Menzies would revile.
"The whole essence of freedom is that it is freedom for others as well as for ourselves: freedom for people who disagree with us as well as for our supporters; freedom for minorities as well as for majorities."
"If we are to have freedom of speech, we must be prepared to hear things with which we profoundly disagree, and even things which we think are foolish or dangerous. The test of our belief in free speech is whether we are prepared to allow it to those whose opinions we detest."
"Truth, as Mill pointed out, is most likely to emerge from the untrammelled clash of opinion in free debate. Today's truth may be tomorrow's error; and if we suppress the expression of opinion because we think it wrong, we may be suppressing the very truth we are seeking to protect."
"The suppression of free thought and free speech is the worst crime of fascism and national socialism. It is the denial of the human spirit."
- Robert Menzies (Forgotten People, 1942)
The Liberal Party of Australia, today, stands condemned by the words of their own founder. Any member of the Liberal Party who supports these new laws also stands condemned by the words of Robert Menzies.
It is time for the membership of the Liberal Party to act. It is clear that the party's leadership and parliamentary body do not reflect the founding principles of the Liberal Party, and its members must resign their membership, immediately, lest they too be condemned by these actions.
