Iran has just done Nigeria and Africa a massive favour BTW.
By removing any shred of residual legitimacy left on the American empire's naked body, it has made it much harder to sell that "invade Nigeria to 'protect the Christians' " bullshit.
Nobody is ever going to buy the narrative that the guy who was just threatening to "end an entire civilisation" by committing the greatest war crime in human history against millions of civilians, is trying to save any goddamn Christian in Darkest Africa. That agenda is now dead and can now rest in peace.
Closing the Strait of Hormuz for nearly 6 weeks has also had the fortunate unintended consequence of forcing African countries to seek closer energy cooperation with each other. The number of African supply deals signed by the Dangote refinery over the past month would have taken years to achieve without Iran's intervention.
Allowing the war to end now and opening the Strait of Hormuz so that US tankers can pass through makes Nigerian oil less critical to the Star Spangled Motherfuckers, which makes a military invasion to 'protect Christians' all the less likely.
Every Nigerian who knows their arse from their elbow needs to visit their local Iranian embassy today to say thank you.

Those who rejoice at the death of others merely because of differences in matters of faith have allowed their hearts to descend into a dangerous moral abyss. Such people may not have physically taken a life, but the spirit that celebrates death is not far removed from the spirit that permits it. For when the sanctity of life is lost in the heart, its violation in action becomes only a matter of opportunity.
To exult over the death of a fellow Muslim due to differences in interpretation is to mirror the very mindset of those who shed blood under the pretext of declaring others misguided. The distance between ideological hatred and physical violence is often thinner than we imagine. What begins as harsh judgment can easily evolve into justification for harm.
This attitude stands in clear opposition to the spirit of the Sunnah. The Prophet (ṣallāLlāhu 'alayhi wa sallam) was a mercy to mankind, not a celebrant of death. He grieved over loss, even of those who opposed him, and he consistently warned against hatred, division, and the destruction of human dignity. The ethical framework of Islam is rooted in compassion, restraint, and the preservation of life, not in vindictiveness or triumph over death.
Rejoicing at death is not a sign of faith; it is a corruption of it. It reflects a heart hardened by arrogance and poisoned by rancor. Such an outlook is not only anti-human, it is anti-Sunnah and antithetical to the very essence of Islam. The believer is one who mourns loss, prays for guidance, and seeks unity, not one who finds satisfaction in the demise of others.
Indeed, it is not the believer who rejoices at death, but Shayṭān who delights in division, hatred, and the tearing apart of the Ummah.

My dear fellow Nigerians,
Today, as I clock another year in the journey of life, I'm filled with joy and gratitude for the opportunity given me to serve this great nation. I want to take this moment to thank Nigerians for their messages, show of love and prayers on the occasion of my 74th birthday. I thank all our citizens for their patriotism, solidarity and support for our administration.
To those who have taken space in newspapers or paid for air time on radio and television to wish me well, I thank you immensely.
I must thank my wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, for her kind and loving words. I also thank Vice President Kashim Shettima for all he said about me.
Consistent with my tradition over the years to mark my birthday in line with the mood of the nation each year, I resolved to also observe this year's birthday low key.
As I mark this special day, I am reminded of the challenges we've faced since we initiated our reforms. I'm glad that our sacrifices have not been in vain as we can see some glittering light at the end of the tunnel, despite the temporary setback caused by ongoing Middle East crisis.
The credit for the positive outcomes we have achieved does not belong solely to me, our Renewed Hope team and to our government. We achieved the gains together.
As we march towards the third anniversary of our administration, it is my deepest conviction that we shall succeed in building a brighter future for our citizens and future generations.
We are determined to confront some of the challenges we face today, and with your continued support, we shall overcome.
Let us continue to work together to build a stronger, prosperous and more resilient nation that will make Nigeria the pride of Africa.
Thank you all, and happy 74th birthday to me!
Bola Ahmed Tinubu
President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
