I guess nothing brings the Destiny community together quite like the end of development. All of a sudden, everyone’s out here organizing synchronized login days and signing petitions to show support. Where was all of this when the game actually needed it?

@BMorgantheGreat @SaltagreppoD2 Your a casual if you think streamers have any affect on the sandbox lol. Bungie literally cater to the Casuals. Well and Wovenmail could've been nerfed WAY earlier and it would have been justified.

@hiddenm1st @SaltagreppoD2 I wasn't a casual, though. The streamers are the ones who complained until the developers made the sandbox tedious and time-consuming. It wasn't fun to play the game anymore.

Thinking about it btw lowkey crazy they are not gonna end the Fate Saga. Like would they start D3 with it or just leave it open? Would feel weird to start D3 with it since idk if many care as much as the original story tbh.

Read the full blog at bung.ie/d2_may_21_2026 For almost twelve years, we have had the joy and honor to explore the Destiny universe with you all. Through all the ups and downs, surprises and triumphs, building Destiny alongside our players has been a monumental privilege. While our love for Destiny 2 has not changed, it has become clear that after The Final Shape, we have reached the time for our shared worlds, and Destiny, to live beyond Destiny 2. As our focus turns towards a new beginning for Bungie, we will begin work incubating our next games. To that end, on June 9, 2026, we will release the final live-service content update for Destiny 2 to begin that new journey as a studio. Though active development may be concluding, we will ensure that Destiny 2 remains playable, just as the original Destiny is today. Many changes in this final update will aim to ensure that Destiny 2 is a welcoming place for players to return to. We’re proud of Destiny 2, the places it took us, and the legacy it has created. Because of you all, our universe is vast, built on years of shared stories, adventures, and victories. From the Cosmodrome to the Pale Heart to the Lawless Frontier, we have forged life-long memories and friendships with you all. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made that journey with us. From the deepest part of our hearts, thank you, and we'll see you in the stars.

@eternalcrim I remember thinking that but they literally told us that they won't replace D2 with Marathon and they did. D2 quit making as much money because of the HUGE content drought and give more than half of Bungie resources to Marathon. At this point "supporting Marathon" is useless.

Guys all I’m trying to say is if Marathon doesn’t turn around there could be a world where Bungie gets shutdown, and we never even see the third entry of Destiny. Gtfo the “fuck marathon” because xyz train and actually think for a second.

It’s baffling that people think Marathon should die because it “killed” D2 but then want D3 to happen. Think for a second, D2 isn’t making a profit anymore, the only other IP generating money is Marathon. For D3 to happen, Marathon succeeding would help push for a green light.

@hiddenm1st @GravitonJanitor @SaltagreppoD2 I never played the portal. I quit after Lightfall, and I really enjoyed Lightfall, to be honest, but that well-nerf pissed me off. I also wasn't a casual, but I mostly played with randoms in LFG cause I didn't have a fireteam. After all, no one I knew liked Destiny.

@BMorgantheGreat @GravitonJanitor @SaltagreppoD2 Bro he asked me to tell him how Bungie catered to Casuals. Those guns were probably the best guns the game has ever had and they had to lower the requirements like 2-33 times so yeah I talked about that lmfao.

@hiddenm1st @GravitonJanitor @SaltagreppoD2 You all are still talking about Recluse and Mountain Top, but they got sunset, and I got Recluse when it was in the PVE meta, but I wasn't a PVP player.

Honestly, I’m not going to drag this out, i’m not nearly enough of a Destiny die hard as people who *are* and deserve to speak louder than I do on the matter. But I will say this: “I’d rather Bungie die” is some evil, evil shit. You are a bad person. End of story.

@DestinyBulletn Don't Blame Bungie.. Blame their Leaders.. so many great ideas, rejected or paused because of Biblical levels of greed.. its truly a CRIME. I still have hope that good decisions can be taken, let the game rest then come back with better stuff

@SaltagreppoD2 All I recall is you constantly complaining about well-needed to be nerfed while you solo'd Roots of Nightmare. Between you and Glad, you both had a hard-on about that raid being too easy. You all wanted to push the causals out, and you achieved it.

@iCON_Riot Fuck that and fuck Marathon, they don't deserve my money. The same leadership that Killed D2 is the same as Marathon. have fun when they kill Marathon for no reason but their shitty decisions.

One thing to note about the D2 news. It isn't Marathon's fault. We all knew Bungie was and will continue to work on other games. If you loved D2 at any point, I highly recommend giving Marathon a try in S2.

@TresBonSang @DestinyTheGame Wanting bare minimum communication and getting content we paid for already isn't toxic. What's toxic is Bungie ball glazers like you that wont admit the wrong doing that Bungie is doing to the game/community.

@DestinyTheGame All the toxic comments in here suck ass. We already know that many Raids get a lot refresh, panteon 2.0, heavy metal 2.0, Onslaught 2.0. The only thing missing is an artifact peak and shadow&Order Trailer. This will happen one week before launch so the toxics cant organise.
