Ironically, given the embedded advertisement, wide-margin victories actually shed the least amount of light on determination, or mental toughness. Races in which horses display the ability to overcome tough trips, or prevail in tight finishes after battling to the wire, are the most informative. Even a game runner-up performance would be much more indicative of strong determination in a racehorse, than a wide-margin win!
