This is a non-tech rant, you can probably skip it :/ So I just received this disturbing DM and it is breaking me. All I did was point out that I had no involvement with the project, that it wasn't even using our tech, and that (despite its claims) Bend/HVM aren't funded by it. These are all just facts, so, I (obviously) did a sensible thing to provide truthful information to my followers. Yet, this doesn't change the fact that now the market has crashed, and people lost money as a direct consequence of my actions... Perhaps the DM is fake and I'm too naive to believe it, but it does seem likely that at least some people legitimately invested on that project because they believed on my work. You don't get to 10m valuation with just bots, I guess? So, these are real humans, just like me, trying to make a living in a cruel world... and now their dreams just got crushed. Even though I have no involvement in the project, I am causally related to this situation, so, yes, of course I will wonder if I can repair this damage somehow? For non-tech people, it can be extremely difficult to tell when a project is legit or not. How do you even make it in a world like that? Most of my current net-worth comes from good investment decisions, which I'd not be able to make without my tech background. But at some point I was just like these guys, a random poor dude with no cash, trying to have decent life. Why do I deserve a comfortable life more than that people? Because I happen to like computers? How is that fair? NOBODY should need to work for money, NOBODY should need to go through this kind of despair. Every human should have the right to live a happy, comfortable, work-free life. BTW, we'd not have fucking scammers if we didn't failed to provide a basic living condition to everyone 🤡 Tell me why, again, we have people living on mansions, while others must work 24/7 to barely afford eating? II am not intelligent enough to construct a logical justification to such situation. I fail to see how wealthy people withholding millions in real state that they don't use are any less evil. I reached out to my partners and everyone was, obviously, strongly opposed to doing anything at all. "Just stop tweeting, this will just give them free publicity and legitimacy." Yes, that's obvious enough! "It is the equivalent of Vitalik joining a micro-cap's tg." Yeah I get it! Believe it or not, ✨I'm not dumb✨! But project aside, there are REAL humans trying to have a DECENT life, and now they just lost their life savings, and nobody is there for them! They could be alone, they could have anxiety, they could be hungry and in pain. And now they must tell their wives that their lives will just become 10x harder from now on. Why nobody fucking cares? Yes we can't save everyone (?), but, what about this: what if we try to, at least, care about the humans we *interact with*? If someone reaches out to you needing help - help them. If everyone acted like that, nobody would be alone. We'd live in a better world, during this period of time where automation hasn't fully kicked in and poverty is still a thing. Sounds like a good heuristic, doesn't it? It does to me! 5k can mean a lot to some people... I apologize to my friends, but I just want to do something about this situation. @Tree_of_Alpha It’s just showing that art has never been about the technical skill. That’s just drafting/illustration, a curiosity from a rapidly departing past. Rather than fearing it, artists will just see it as new tools and methods to bring their vision to life.
