Kakatiyas built the first fort in Golconda in 12th c AD. It became the capital of the Qutub Shahis in the 16th c AD. Its decline started after its loss to the Mughals in 1687 AD. Seen here is the interior of the barracks of the fort. #Golconda #Telangana #Hyderabad #India

Shey Palace cum Monastery was bult in 1655 by Deldan Namgyal, the 12th ruler of the dynasty. This is the monastery’s giant copper with gilded gold statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, the 2nd largest Buddha sculpture in Ladakh after Diksit Monastery. youtu.be/DgxACE_71G8
