Another successful reading event today at Hillview. Our Read With Me event attracted 110 parents to come in to share a book with their children

Year 6 has had an amazing afternoon making Alban buns inspired by our theme of the Tudors. #hillviewdt

Year 1 started their Geography lesson off with a quiz. The first few questions recapped on our learning in the autumn term. The last few questions were an assessment for learning opportunity on prior knowledge for the spring term. We love a good quiz!

Year 6 really enjoyed a rugby taster session today.

Year 6 had the most amazing time at residential. We stayed at Oaker Wood and participated in lots of different activities. We enjoyed paint balling, high ropes, rafting and more… #hillviewextra #hillviewresidential

This week in science we are growing cress. Each day we fill-in our observational plant chart and note any changes we can see. #hillviewscience

Innovation time! We are innovating the story, ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Breakfast’. We are calling our version, ‘The Circus Keeper’s Breakfast’. #hillviewenglish

We are using none standard forms of measurement to compare the capacity of two containers. #hillviewmaths

Year 1 enjoyed being immersed into their learning with ‘Pirate Day’ where we learnt to walk, talk and act like pirates #hillviewenglish #lthelighthousekeepersbreakfast

We have been using a baked bean to understand how heavy a gram would feel. We used a bag of sugar to understand how heavy 1 kilogram felt. We then compared them both and learnt there are 1000 grams in 1 kilogram #hillviewmaths

Year 1 have thoroughly enjoyed developing their skills in tennis this half term, especially working as a team with a partner #hillviewPE

Year 5 got to virtually meet an astronaut this morning. We asked him some very interesting questions all about his experience in space and his career journey. #hillviewscience

BREAKING NEWS! Some amazing up and coming reporters have been spotted in Year 2 for writing some amazing newspaper reports all about the Tailor of Gloucester! #hillviewwriting 🖋📜😍

Year 5 has had a fantastic day today at Horsbere Brook! We went into the Brook and measured the depth, width, speed and the temperature of the water. Also, we studied different wildlife using magnifying glasses and the human influence in the area. #hillviewgeography

What an amazing experience it was for Year 1 on our trip to Weston Super Mare. It truly consolidated our learning about seaside towns. #hillviewgeography

We were creating PowerPoints this week in computing club! The children were able to create their own PowerPoint about something they were interested in and even found pictures to use themselves! Well done 👍⭐️💻 #hillviewcomputing
