I don’t have a problem with migrants being housed near me. In truth, I would sooner live near them than near the people whipping up this ugly campaign against them. My experience, after meeting many immigrants and refugees over the years, is that they are decent, hard-working people who want safety, stability and the chance to build a life. The right’s fixation with presenting foreigners as a threat is a disgraceful joke, engineered to divide communities and redirect anger away from the politicians who have failed them. No issue has been weaponised more cynically by Nigel Farage and his acolytes than immigration. He used it in 2016 to frighten people about European migration, and he is using it again now against people seeking asylum. The method is familiar enough: take an instinctive human fear of the unfamiliar, inflame it, then harvest the resentment. This latest stunt, a vindictive act of intimidation which may well be unlawful, belongs to that same nasty tradition of dehumanising politics. The difference now is the tone. It has become more openly cruel, more performative, more imported from the worst habits of American right-wing politics, where humiliation itself becomes the point. They are getting nastier and dirtier, and they should be called what they are: a disgrace. A movement prepared to treat vulnerable people as props in a political game is nowhere near fit to govern.

@TedUrchin People have the right to choose who they want to vote for! Lots of people who voted Labour wish they hadn’t now because of Starmer but it was their mistake to make.

Don’t vote Reform. Please. Think. Despite what they might say, the nice noises they make - they DO NOT REPRESENT YOU. They are for themselves, the right wing, and the money! Make NO mistake.

Giving a spare room to Ukrainian women and children genuinely fleeing Putin’s bomb, while their men stay behind fighting for their homeland, is one thing. Forcing lonely pensioners and single Brits to house unchecked, undocumented young men flooding across the Channel in small boats illegally entering this country? That’s something else entirely. These aren’t ‘refugees’ in the traditional sense. Most are fighting-age males from cultures that clash hard with British values, different languages, different rules for women, different attitudes to our way of life. Many have already shown zero gratitude and plenty of entitlement. The globalist think tanks and radical Left don’t care about the vulnerable grannies living alone or the strained NHS and housing waiting lists. They’ve opened the floodgates, packed the streets and hotels, and now they want your living room as the next cheap solution. Enough. Britain isn’t a giant UNHCR hostel. Look after our own first, the elderly, the homeless Brits, the young families priced out of homes. Close the boats, deport the illegals, and stop pretending every economic migrant is a ‘poor refugee’ we owe our sofa to.

UK: “About 8 million people live alone many could welcome a refugee into their home.” Government think tanks and the radical Left are now openly pushing to house asylum seekers inside private British homes. This was always the next step. They opened the borders. They filled the streets. Now they want them in your living room.
