But to be honest, that was probably no one knowing what to do with me as an individual. I don't think with this specific subject there is a fully clear divide between what's that and what's something that happens to everyone (which people forget, probably on purpose).

Everyone's saying volunteer but when I was 19ish and tried that, the coordinator asked, "So why don't you want a job?" and didn't let me volunteer. And then I found a job that wasn't that.
