@NYC_DOT Extra shitty of you to start non-urgent construction at 10 pm at 80th and Lex on a nightly basis. Shows real contempt for your constituents

Trump appears to be unraveling live on stage “When I say insane asylums, and then I say, Doctor Hannibal Lecter, does anybody know? They go crazy. They say, oh, he brings up these names out of— Well, that's genius. Right. Doctor Hannibal Lecter. There's nobody worse than him. Silence of the Lambs. Who the hell else would even remember that? I have a great memory, but they always hit me. I don't bring it up too much because they have to take such a— he brought up Hannibal Lecter. What does that have to do with this? What is it? It has everything to do with it, right? He was… So I've done something for you for you that I haven't done in 20 speeches. I brought up Doctor Hannibal Lecter and we're allowing him, you watch, you watch these fake people will say again, he brought up Hannibal Lecter has absolutely nothing to do. You know I do the weave, right? The weave. It's genius. You bring up Hannibal Lecter, you mention insane asylum. Hannibal Lecter. You go out, no. There'll be a time in life where the weave won't finish properly at the bottom and then we can talk. But right now it's pure genius. Hey, I have an uncle, my uncle, Uncle John, my father's brother, 41 years at MIT, longest serving professor has so many degrees, he didn't know what the hell to do with them all in the most complicated. I understand a lot of this stuff, you know, I believe in that. Like, I mean, Jack Nicklaus is not gonna produce a bad golfer. Right. You know, that's the way it works. It's just one of those things and it's in the family and it's whatever”

1/2 But…the full data have been in the public domain for years, in some cases decades. Anyone with internet access can go to the PubMed National Library of Medicine database. The data are unequivocal: vaccines don’t cause autism and there’s not even a plausible mechanism.
Howard Lutnick@howardlutnick

To be clear, my wife and I trust our doctors and following their advice have vaccinated our children and ourselves. However, not everybody trusts such advice or the FDA. We would be doing everyone a service if the government respected Bobby Kennedy’s request to make the full data available.

Wow. Mike Johnson was caught on a hot mic saying that he and Donald Trump will repeal the Affordable Care Act. Spread this everywhere.

I bumped into John Salvesen, running as a pro-Trump Republican in a deep-blue House district. He predicts a seismic shift in November. “I’m hearing from Black voters who feel like they’re not being represented. And you can’t argue that the economy was stronger four years ago.”

I’m here at the Donald Trump rally at Georgia Tech in the heart of Atlanta. I wandered the crowd of thousands and asked voters the same question: What will be the decisive factor for your candidate in Georgia’s election? Here’s what I heard: #gapol

that all Dems were idiots. I told her we respectfully disagreed. Signs were 50-50 almost exactly, one after the other. I couldn't say for sure we made any difference but perhaps the effort is the point. Next week PA

Exhausting, humbling and rewarding afternoon of canvassing in Kenosha, WI today. A recent immigrant from Belize wouldn't reveal she was pro KH until she was sure we were safe to talk to. Two Trump supporters on cycles rounded us twice. And an older Latina yelled after us

Have you heard that even most Latino voters support Trump’s mass deportation plans? That’s because of what I call “poll-washing”—using surveys to “reveal” popular support for something the survey-takers don’t fully understand. It’s time for pollsters to poll the policies, not the euphemisms for the policy. The same surveys show even higher Latino support for a path to citizenship—for the same people Trump wants deported!

More @Mike_Podhorzer brilliance: " ...surveys are used to “reveal” popular support for the indefensible (once it’s been sanitized), lending it a veneer of democratic legitimacy. This is what I call “poll-washing.” " open.substack.com/pub/michaelpod…

We're trying to stand up to a fascist who's in cahoots with the world's richest man, and our only weapon is: knocking on doors and having conversations. Of course it feels scary. Right now our job is to be brave and keep knocking.

At this point in October 2020, I wrote a piece for the glorious @BulwarkOnline, imploring my new Dem friends to finish the campaign with confidence and swagger. I wrote that if I ran the Dem party, my message would be: We are going to crush Donald Trump and the sickness he represents. There are more of us than there are of them. We are right. They are wrong. This is our moment. This is our destiny. Walk with confidence. Do not falter. Victory will be ours. I once again make the plea. Arrogance is walking on the field, bragging you will win without having done the work. The Harris-Walz campaign and thousands of volunteers are doing the hard work. You've earned it. No team wins the Superbowl thinking, "We might have a shot." This is yours. Walk out and take it. You will look back at this moment with quiet pride and satisfaction for the rest of your life, knowing that when America called, you answered. thebulwark.com/p/victory-is-n…
