The July 1, 1978 CSP event in Caguas was originally set to feature Carlos Colón vs. Michel Martel, but Martel tragically died the night before. The main event shifted to Invader 1 vs. Dick Steinborn for the Caribbean belt. The card took place just one day after Martel’s death.

On this day 54 years ago, at Madison Square Garden, now Hall of Famer Pedro Morales, born on Culebra Island in Puerto Rico, defeated Ivan Koloff to win the WWWF World Championship. Morales held the WWWF Championship for just over 1,000 days.

@Contralona En AWF, una buena competencia para WWC mientras la señora Gloria Uribe financió la empresa, cuando se acabó el dinero, desapareció. Se llevaron mucho talento de WWC, tuvo cerca de dos años de vida. Los invaders 2 y 4, fueron los invaders de la AWF, ese es el 4, Maelo Huertas.
