@lesbistaroth I never said you shouldnt like skirk, i enjoy skirks story, but loving something also means being able to be critical of it sometimes Skirk has design elements that are really good and some that can be better. All im saying is that she would be more memorable with more creative-

I genuinely cannot understand hating on Skirk’s abyssal limbs I’m sorry I get wanting more conventional scars but the concept is cool as hell and fits her way more than just a few scratches on the face

@lesbistaroth the creatures are mimics of hillichurls that exist, the hillichurls themselves arent entirely abyssal creatures like the papilla is

@hitherpather Said boss is mimicking enemies and does so by replicating them exactly with the same texture as skirk’s limbs that’s the whole point in making. I am also only saying that her ABYSSAL LIMBS are cool you’re the one making it about her whole design and concept

@lesbistaroth yes. I am talking about her entire design and concept because she is the only character that has come from the abyss (extremely important part of teyvats lore) and it should be conveyed in her design as it is in her story. I like skirk. But i like art more

@lesbistaroth this isnt a “i hate skirk” problem it is hoyos inability to give its female cast any type of “risk”, it is easiest to make their silhouettes samey and emphasize her humanoid legs instead of finding a way to make her overall look more memorable. And that skirk design isnt her main

@lesbistaroth 1. The enemy on the left is a part of a boss that looks like this 2. skirk Does have good design elements, i am not saying she is entirely bad, but there are things that can be changed to be more in line with the silhouettes and design elements that are seen in abyssal creatures

@lesbistaroth Skirks outfit has really cool ideas and shares similar silhouettes to that of the papilla but for me it falls flat because her limbs dont have the same signature look that most abyssal entities have , abyss markings, spikes, “armory”

@lesbistaroth armory is a part of being an abyssal entity though.. abyssal beings exist to fight, and these pieces of “armor” are literally a part of their bodies, the sharp edges and needle like fixtures exist to create unique silhouettes and create an imposing energy

@lesbistaroth @Rasenpapl Not trying to be petty but do you play the game the only time we see abyssal hilichurls is in natlan aq & as a mechanic for the papilla, hilichurls are grunts and they exist solely to swarm the traveler, the game has had abyssal enemies since its start

@hitherpather @Rasenpapl Show these abyssal creatures? Because so far what we got is abyssal hilichurls that look exactly like their normal forms, which fits with skirk abyssal limbs being the same as her normal limbs lmfao.

@lesbistaroth no i still stand on that everyone who engages in gacha discourse is tribalistic , including myself to an extent but i play these games for the artistic merit and miss when genshin was more thematically consistent. Its what makes certain regions and characters so memorable

@hitherpather Great because immediately assuming someone has “Gacha tribalism” because they like a part of a design you dislike is silly. It’s as if taste is subjective and I genuinely like her abyssal limbs.

@lesbistaroth @Rasenpapl Okay thats your opinion and thats fine, but i can still look at it from an *artistic* standpoint and point out that her limbs dont match thematically with other abyssal beings that already exist, simply because she is a female character that needs to sell. Stop being defensive

@hitherpather @Rasenpapl “It’s okay to criticize characters you like” except I like the abyssal limbs. I think they’re cool and fit her conceptually. I am literally not defending any other part of her design I just think this specific thing is cool and you can’t take that away from me lmfao

@hitherpather @Rasenpapl Look man, I saw the tweets you deleted and all I’m gonna say is that you’re missing the whole point. I think the ABYSSAL LIMBS are cool and fits her. Every character in a Gacha game is supposed to sell it’s not even a female character thing. I still find the abyssal limbs cool.

@lesbistaroth @Rasenpapl like skirk building her limbs to be stockings that emphasize her thighs isnt a choice she would make if she was actually autonomous imo and genshin has creates abyssal beings that follow clear patterns while skirk just has the same silhouette every other female ingame has

@lesbistaroth @Rasenpapl I do not think a lot of her design aspects reflect the themes reflected in her story and her character and its okay to criticize character you like, female characters exist to be sold and be watered down as much as possible to appeal to to the lowest common denominator

@FentHead124 @Iluvchucky96114 @gimmekt not only that but when you have the toolkit on pc you can have even greater creative control because you can use any program to draw detailed facepaint/ items instead of using the limited jank ass tools ingame, colors literally glitch on switch & have discolored outlines
