@hitstickmaster2 @TFG_Football I know but most teams would rather just take the swing on a way more athletic but raw LB like Anthony Hill over a CJ Allen IMO. Also I think Marcus was meaning 1st round grade not about actually taking him in the 1st round this year.

So the more CJ Allen I watch, the more you appreciate how strong his upper body is for a smaller Linebacker, very good at taking on blocks. The coverage and lack of athleticism is pretty eye opening if we're talking about a 1st Round player though, IMO

CJ Allen was a projected Round 1 guy all year and hurt his knee on Nov 15th. He could’ve shut it down to prep for the draft, but he played 13 days after knee surgery because he loves football and couldn’t imagine not finishing with his guys. That makes him a fucking dog. Allen didn’t go through full workouts yesterday or at the combine because his knee is still swollen. When he made those decisions in November he either a) knew it was possible it could effect his draft process but loves football too much to care, or b) was too fixated on his responsibility as a leader and a player to worry about anything else. However you do the math, he’s still a dog. Accounts like this want football players who love football right up until loving football changes how they workout in shorts. My guess is that the NFL team who takes Allen will be the kind who values tape over combine hype, recognizes his excellent football IQ, and wants players who love football because they love it instead of loving football for what it can give them. CJ Allen- #NFLDraft #Cowboys Pros- Sees it, is patient in run setup to pick proper lane to get to ball carrier. Head on a swivel in pass game and good in zone drop. Once he’s sure, he makes a bee line to where he wants to go. Fearless blitzer Cons- runs upright sometimes and it slows him down. Was late to edge a few times. Turns wrong way sometimes on his spot drop. -he can change direction, but doesn’t always sink to do it and that slows him down. He’s a Nakobe Dean clone
