Does anyone know any paediatric OTs in South Wales who might be looking for a change of role? We are growing our business in response to demand and are looking for another OT to join us in supporting neurodivergent children, young people and families. helpingkidsshine.co.uk

@JoT_the_OT @theRCOT Personally I'd prefer an option to opt out of posted journals, OT news etc with online access to content and a reduction in membership fee to reflect the cost savings...although just the environmental benefit would be enough to opt for this? 🌍😁

Hurrah! My copy of OT news arrived today, with a copy of the new standards..... but this hole was in the bottom of the envelope; does this mean my lovely new pin badge has been lost to the wilds of the postal service? Please say it isn't so! @theRCOT 😟

I'm really looking forward to the @Childrens_OT @CPteaching1 webinars this summer. They will be a great opportunity for further learning 😊 #cypf

Thanks @RCOT_CYPF and @BecsTheOT for another brilliant webinar - interesting overview of current evidence that highlights the importance of family engagement in achieving outcomes. Excited to continue the upper limb discussion in June & July with @CPteaching1 and @Childrens_OT

A big thank you to Bryher Hill, an occupational therapist, who has donated £1,000 through her business @hks_uk to our Wizzybug Loan Scheme. She wanted to ‘give back’ to the community and chose to support Designability. Thank you so much for your support!

@trans_mum We’ve only recently been accepted onto the waiting list at almost 9 years old. I can’t believe that we’ll be seen before puberty starts, but if they try to discharge then we will be fighting!

GIDS have apparently decided it’s perfectly fine to discharge younger trans kids and tell their parents to join the waiting list again if their child persists in being trans. As if a child who has said they are a girl since they could speech will somehow not require treatment???

TY @SensoryBabies for inspiring talk on the importance of our senses. I loved this quote “Sensory experiences are fundamental to building our brain, our neurology and our body” and thinking about womb spaces not only for infants but for parents & staff also @RCOT_CYPF

@anita_atwal To me, holistic means considering the whole - not just the person everything around them too. Person centred means keeping that person at the centre of everything we do.

Ok going on a twitter rant OTs. why do we still insist on using holistic when person centred is the term policy and other professionals use ? Is holistic better than person centred in some way ?
