Last week, I hit rock bottom. I was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy, and my right face got paralysed; I honestly wondered how I was going to get through it! I vibe-coded my way out and built an AI face tracking app that guides my facial exercises, measures facial symmetry in real time, and tracks my progress; Used @OpenAIDevs Codex for core logic (@sama more limits please) and @claudeai for UI stuff;

@HaimantikaM Fair point! Attention spans are a real challenge. The curiosity to dig deeper is shrinking, as you mentioned. Feels like the "context window" for learners is decreasing.

@hmehtaro Yes. But will learners even read that part? They are already used to just tab/accept all. They need to push harder from within

Just came back from mentoring a student hackathon and here’s my general view on AI, coding and how it is impacting students: - Everybody is churning out code using AI. Which is fine, we do it too. But the problem lies in students not focusing on the basics at all. I asked one team which tech stack did they use, they mentioned Tailwind, when I checked the code it was vanilla CSS. So I ended up spending a lot of time with each team, helping them a little with the basics and how they can proceed ahead. - There is no thinking involved. For example, a solution built for accessibility had nothing to do with accessibility. When asked about it, the default answer was “We do not know how to code, and this is what AI did for us”. - The patience level is decreasing (thanks to Instagram and short form of content as well). Since learners do not need to go through documentation, and Stack Overflow anymore and are used to quick fixes, the patience level is decreasing. A team was facing CORS error and kept asking me for the solution because they spent an hour asking ChatGPT to solve it and it didn’t. What I advised them is, to learn more about how things work and why the error happens in the first place. All in all, AI is a great help, but it isn’t a shortcut to learning. If you are a student, please please focus on the foundation. It is still as important as it was a few years back (maybe even more). Learn how machines work. Learn how internet works. This is never getting old.

I am yet to submit my talk title, but the community wanted to publish the agenda, so I guess it's a win-win situation? 🤷‍♂️

Today’s Test Match + #DevRel work got me thinking of wild analogies 😂 DevRel is like Test cricket: days of patient community building and nurturing, small wins, holding the line… then suddenly, Rooty’s 100 or Bumrah’s 5-for. Patience + compassion = payoff. #INDvsENG #DevRel

What a day for sports and life lessons! India wins a thrilling Test at Edgbaston with a young team, and @HulkHulkenberg landing a podium after 239 F1 starts! A masterclass in patience, grit, and commitment. Never count out those who keep showing up. 🙌 #INDvENG #Hulkenberg #F1

Winning a Test in England is about showing heart when it gets tough! No @Jaspritbumrah93, away from home, backs to the wall and still the boys found a way! #AkashDeep was fearless and unplayable and @ShubmanGill showed maturity beyond his years! That’s the kind of win you remember 🇮🇳 On to the next and to grab the series boys! #IndVSEng

My father in law who was in the restaurant business ( now retired ) cannot relate or understand why I'm locked in my room for 8 hours with my laptop and he keeps saying "Take care" everytime I come out of the room for a minute. I think he thinks I do some "Severance" kind of mysterious work from the room which needs me to be isolated.
