The story of @BrianSzasz is a complex and intriguing one that raises questions about wealth, privilege, mental health, and criminal behavior. Brian Szasz is the stepson of British billionaire #HamishHarding and has been in the news recently for declining to take part in the search to find his stepfather who was one of five passengers on the missing #OceanGate submarine in June 2023. In June 2021, Brian Szasz was detained on online stalking charges and was arrested at the Vista Detention Facility for online stalking. He has been accused of threatening to commit a mass killing at an EDM festival and lying about relationships with numerous women on social media using their genuine identities and Twitter handles. He has also been accused of making violent threats and stalking women on Twitter and Facebook. While detained at the Vista Detention Facility for 2 years, Brian Szasz claims that he did not receive proper medical care for his pre-existing conditions of Asperger's Syndrome and Type 1 diabetes which has morphed into retinopathy. He claims that jail medical staff failed to perform any medical consultations and did not prescribe the insulin needed to maintain his blood sugar levels. Additionally, he claims that he was attacked by a violent inmate and did not receive medical attention for his injuries until five days later when an infection set in. Despite orders from doctors to start Szasz on an insulin regimen and laser treatments for the retinopathy, Szasz says he was left without any medication.
