@gdb Why isn't this available to Pro subscribers? I'm thinking solo founders, etc.

@ericjing_ai After I hit the context window limit, I couldn't go on. How do I download the prototype it was working on?

2.5 years old — we finally have a printer in the office and a proper onboarding package for new hires. Like a real company now. 😄

AI commoditizes answers. That doesn’t make questions more important than answers. It makes judgment about questions and answers the real bottleneck. When answers were scarce, expertise lived in knowing things. Now answers are abundant. Failure moves upstream. The risk isn’t that we can’t get an answer. It’s that we act on the wrong one. At the wrong time. With the wrong level of confidence. Good questions don’t save you if the tradeoff is invisible, the question is premature, or no one owns the consequence when it’s wrong. We debate prompts. We debate models. We rarely debate who decides which answers matter — and how that decision gets revisited when reality disagrees. AI didn’t eliminate work. It eliminated the excuse that execution was the hard part. The future advantage isn’t better prompts. It’s better ownership of decisions made with AI.

@sama Did you ask ChatGPT what other monetization avenues you have not considered besides ads?

We are starting to test ads in ChatGPT free and Go (new $8/month option) tiers. Here are our principles. Most importantly, we will not accept money to influence the answer ChatGPT gives you, and we keep your conversations private from advertisers. It is clear to us that a lot of people want to use a lot of AI and don't want to pay, so we are are hopeful a business model like this can work. (An example of ads I like are on Instagram, where I've found stuff I like that I otherwise never would have. We will try to make ads ever more useful to users.)
OpenAI@OpenAI

In the coming weeks, we plan to start testing ads in ChatGPT free and Go tiers. We’re sharing our principles early on how we’ll approach ads–guided by putting user trust and transparency first as we work to make AI accessible to everyone. What matters most: - Responses in ChatGPT will not be influenced by ads. - Ads are always separate and clearly labeled. - Your conversations are private from advertisers. - Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise tiers will not have ads.

I like #2 the best: contrasting colors between the main title and the subtext. The subtle background graphic looks like pages of a journal bringing a sense of looking back to gain perspective. #1 with the focal point is a bit too cliche, in my view. #4 has no contrast, all the text have the same color.

In Cowork, you give Claude access to a folder on your computer. Claude can then read, edit, or create files in that folder. Try it to create a spreadsheet from a pile of screenshots, or produce a first draft from scattered notes.
