🏥 "Medicare Advantage was designed to lower costs, but last year it overpaid by 22%—an $83B problem. If that persists, we’re looking at $1T over the next decade. The system isn’t working right now." Anomaly CEO @Mike_Desjadon on @CNBC cnbc.com/video/2025/02/…

“Am Yisrael Chai” means “The people of Israel live!” It’s a call for unity and triumph over those who try to destroy us. 🇮🇱 aish.com/the-meaning-of…

Another great discovery today -- shoes. if you wear them at you standing desk all day, your fee are more comfortable than barefoot. I think there is global market potential for them.

@perrymetzger I just looked at this and that's mostly correct. Looks like 91% of the time someone has fully assumed deposits. #gid=0" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d… from fdic.gov/bank/historica…

For those who are unaware: the FDIC is brutally efficient, vastly more than almost any other government agency I can name. On Monday morning, the former Silicon Valley Bank branches will re-open under the name of another bank.

@BayAreaTimes I hope that's correct, but for us start-ups the timing is critical as well

@stephendodson Thanks! I'm not sure. I was assuming that the dividends payouts were the final resolution-- some are marked FINAL in raw data.

@Hoffrocket This is great. Thanks for sharing. For instances where uninsured depositors weren’t immediately made whole, I haven’t been able to find any info on the ultimate resolution (other than IndyMac in 08). Have you?

Fellow SVB depositors: in past 22 years, 91% of failed banks had their assets fully assumed by an acquirer. For the rest that had liquid assets, average of 55% of deposits were paid out within 30 days #gid=0" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…

This is a fascinating spreadsheet from @Hoffrocket, showing the outcome from previous bank failures (I haven't checked it, but it seems legit): #gid=0" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d… And also the graph from fdic.gov:

@sampullara The lock file would be generated as you add deps and persisted in version control. docker build image would use it, not modify it

@Hoffrocket how does the lock file get out of the container? don't I need to run the build to get the lock file in the first place? I'd love a single step process that is a reproducible build.

@sampullara No, it should stay pinned to whatever’s in the lock file. And that example is also old, newer version of poetry stores wheel file hashes for integrity

@Hoffrocket If I check that out on a different machine won't it get whatever the latest libraries are (assuming that my dependencies don't have specific versions)?

@sampullara Here’s an example of how to do with poetry and a multi stage build. Key piece is that poetry maintains a lock file and builder layer only rebuilds if that changes. github.com/michaeloliverx…

It should like like "pip install --asof '2023-02-15' blah" without having to first build the whole environment, write a requirements file and then rebuild the environment using that file. If it works the first time it will continue to work when I rebuild the container later.
