The University of Kentucky was well-represented at the #ISES2024 conference in Montreal. Our environmental health experts presented research in exposure science, epidemiology, toxicology & risk assessments to explore "Exposures that Impact Health in Vulnerable Populations."

After listening to the stories of several 1st yr grad students in academia, systematic changes needs to be done on the university's end to support incoming grad students financially in their critical first year of graduate school.

It’s my fear that soon in the future one will have to go to certain schools - likely R1s with grad student labor - to major in humanities. At schools like mine it will be all precise workforce development. And then it’s a fast slope to ending a general education curriculum.
