I live in the US. I just bought fuel 30 minutes ago at a rate of $3.20 per gallon. In the US, gas is sold by the gallon, not by the liter. A gallon contains roughly 4 liters.
Meanwhile, most workers in California earn more than $400 per day. This means that even if they buy 10 gallons of fuel in a day, they are still financially comfortable.
The fact that most of you compare systems where the minimum wage differs so substantially speaks volumes.

Final trip na empty return
Driving back home with no client = burning fuel 100% for nothing
But today was different
I got a client on my way back
Instead of wasting full fuel, na just about 15% I use go house 🏠
Honestly, I was so happy and grateful
If not that today nothing will come out of the whole trips
Because imagine say I drive back empty…
That means all that fuel for return journey for just reduce everything I made to minus today

Yesterday evening my car battery developed wahala and refused to start the car, had to go and swap it with extra 50k this morning. the cost of car maintenance is high but bolt/urber no dey try

Lagos bus driver increased fare from ₦300 to ₦1500.
Passengers shouted and protested. It’s not even up to 10 minutes ride!
Driver parked and faced them: Fuel is ₦1800+ per litre.
I pay ₦25k daily to the bus owner.
Agbero takes ₦4k.
Police still collect.
Silence for a second…
One passenger replied: “Na we go suffer am? Salary still be ₦70k.”
Driver replied angrily: “When fuel was ₦200, did your boss reduce your salary?”
Nobody answered.
Two passengers came down in anger.
The rest still paid ₦1500.
Now the real question:
Are drivers exploiting the situation…Or are passengers expecting survival to be cheap?
