@bee_zzus binge model lowkey hides the cracks as well that’s why when stuff is weekly episodic it can make or break your show cos the audience sitting with it for a week and building a fandom/theories/whole world around it is different from ok im consuming this in a hrs then moving on

last thing but for the people excusing the jarring tone and pacing cos it’s lestat’s brain that is not how it was in the book. tvl was way slower pace and done so for you to feel the horror of his life and book fans are saying this lsd pacing is better suited for blood canticle

people are allowed to feel disappointed after waiting so long and being promised a 100% book accurate season only for it.. to not be a book accurate season so far! this show has shown that it’s capable of not starting off slow with bad episodes, so why now all of a sudden?

I love this show to bits but critics and audiences would not have given season 1 an ounce of grace if we had to wait till ep 3 for it to “get great”. Ep 1 had to be SPECTACULAR. They had no room to be mediocre because it was a black character leading an already beloved story.
