From Him we come, and to Him we shall surely return.
It is with the deepest pain and broken heart that I, BSA your grandson, join the entire Akran Royal Family and the people of Badagry in mourning the glorious home-call of our beloved patriarch. His Royal Majesty De Wheno Aholu Menu-Toyi I, the Akran of Badagry.
Baba, Grandpa, as I always called him with so much love and reverence, lived his life fully under the abundant grace and mercy of the Almighty God. At the age of 89, after gracing the throne for nearly 49 years (since April 23, 1977), you answered the call of your ancestors on January 12, 2026.
He's a king of very few words, yet his silence carried more wisdom than volumes of books. A man whose quiet strength, deep knowledge, and gentle counsel guided kingdoms, families, and generations. As a former journalist, he brought clarity and truth into everything you touched, preserving our rich Badagry heritage, uniting our people, promoting our festivals, and quietly pushing for progress while never letting go of our sacred traditions.
Grandpa, you will be missed forever. The throne will feel empty without your calm presence, your thoughtful gaze, and the way you always knew exactly what to say, even when you chose to say nothing at all.
Rest on peacefully in the bosom of the ancestors, Ayino Sikamevi, the embodiment of royal dignity, timeless wisdom, and quiet power. May the Almighty grant your noble soul perfect rest, and may He wrap every grieving heart in His comfort, strength, and enduring peace.
Your legacy lives on in us, Baba. I will carry your name, your values, and your love forward forever. 💔💔🕊🕊
With all my love, tears, and deepest respect,
Your grandson,
Babajide Samuel Akran (BSA)
(A very concerned bloody civil servant, forever proud to be your grandson)
