We're pleased to announce Canadian-born arts administrator, John Kieser, as our incoming President & CEO! Mr. Kieser comes to Honens with a substantial background in artistic leadership positions and is uniquely positioned to lead Honens into the future, beginning in July.

In Concert on @CBCMusic features Honens 2022 Competition on Sunday 20 November at 12:30 pm (local time) with host Paolo Pietropaolo. Highlights include Ovcharenko’s concertos, Zhang’s Beethoven Sonata, and Balogh’s Goodyear performance.

Today we want to put the spotlight on Ukrainian pianist Illia Ovcharenko (age 21) who has been named Prize Laureate of the prestigious 2022 @honens International Piano Competition. He wins one of the world’s largest prizes for piano $100,000 (CAD) !

Congratulations to our 2022 Honens Prize Laureate, Illia Ovcharenko (age 21) from Ukraine! He wins one of the world’s largest prizes for piano $100,000 (CAD) and an Artist Development Program valued at a half-million dollars. #HONENS2022

Additional prizes are awarded to Ádám Balogh for the Best Performance of a Commissioned Work ($2500 CAD), and Angie Zhang for the Best Performance of a Beethoven Violin Sonata ($2500 CAD) and the Audience Choice Award ($2500 CAD).

Finalists Rachel Breen (United States / age 26) and Sasha Kasman Laude (United States / age 27) each received Finalist Prizes of $10,000 (CAD).
