@__jakemay basically. when you’re a speedy cyclist you have to really slow down, or ride in the road and face abuse. but a worthy sacrifice & one i take willingly. but to be put in more danger because of all these additional points of conflict & no one respecting them is very frustrating

@honorelliott_ it's important that bike lanes exist, but I do hate using them

i really do love bike lanes but god you need about 46 pairs of eyes facing in every direction when riding down lea bridge road huh

i’m glad they’re there but it’s disappointing that after all this time drivers still seem to completely forget they exist. but then maybe it’s unsurprising given a lot of the time they’re obscured by parked cars. why prioritise parking for a handful of people over safety?

not forgetting parked cars obscuring your vision with the odd door being opened as an extra treat 🥰

you’ll have a driver pulling out on you from the left while a driver tries to cut across you from the right whilst you’re already dodging pedestrians in the bike lane and probably an oncoming cyclist who cba to go to the other side of the road

(generally pride myself on my ability not collide with even the most unpredictable of individuals but this involved one girl riding on the wrong side of the road towards me, one girl riding in front of me meeting her, both suddenly deciding they wanted to u-turn to the other-

when you get absolutely screwed by two young girlies pulling the rarest of manoeuvres on lime bikes but you don’t want to be too angry because you’re also really happy to see two young girlies out cycling lol

I’m obviously saying this out of frustration but coach said pacer was slower than usual. France rider moved to push so Awang had to manoeuvre away, forcing him to overtake the pacer thus making the mistake. French gets a warning and he gets dsq. Shit olympics

i’m quite behind on watching someone pls reassure me there’s redemption for awang

DQ for a minor ill judgment in the kierin but repeated instances of dangerous riding from carlin who can keep going and eventually get bronze? not necessarily suggesting carlin should have got DQ too but then very surprised to see awang did?! very sad #paris2024
