@BRamseyKSR @JP8185 If you do a shot clock in high school, you surely have to do one middle school 😂😂😂Don’t we want to fully prepare kids 🤷🏾‍♂️

@JP8185 Exactly. There are, approximately, 4,000 boys playing Indiana High School varsity basketball. In a given class, about 150-200 will play in college with 15-25 going Division I. For about 97% of high school basketball players this is “just” a scholastic-sponsored extracurricular

What's the percentage of Indiana high school basketball players who play in college? There are arguments for a shot clock, but that isn't the best one. Crown Point has two D-I players and a coach who will be in the hall of fame. I think they'd say they were prepared for college.
Rapheal Davis@RaphealDavis3

This is NOT basketball. Indiana High School Basketball needs a shot clock in the worst way. Stuff like this doesn’t prepare guys for the next level. Can’t understand how people continue to defend stuff like this. It’s bad for the game.

@JohnLogic8 @RaphealDavis3 @IHSAA1 Less than 1% of Indiana High School players will play division 1 basketball. Braden Smith adjusted just fine in college along with numerous other Indiana players. A shot clock is costly and pointless in high school basketball. If you do it in HS why not middle school?

@hoopstrainer @RaphealDavis3 @IHSAA1 I'm also talking about going forward to division 1 basketball. Those guys won't be playing other players from all over the nation, all over the world now? Look at the big picture

Playing without a shot clock does not prepare you to play at the collegiate level. 2012: 30 D1 commits. 2026: 10 D1 guys, including 5 La Lumiere guys. Couldn’t keep up with the game.

The average high school offensive possession nationally is 18-24 seconds with a shot clock. In Indiana it’s 22-30 seconds. Kids adjust to a shot clock in college easier than people think. If the @IHSAA1 wants to add something add 1 class JV Tournament. Let’s have some fun!

@JohnLogic8 @RaphealDavis3 @IHSAA1 Not at all. Zero IHSAA teams this year competed against teams from New York, LA, Oregon etc. National competition is for prep schools not Indiana HS programs. The adjustment to playing with a shot clock isnt that big of a deal for kids. The physical & mental adjustment is larger.

@Will_i_am_P_ @DomMirandaTV Offensively they improve their listening & decision making skills by executing what their coach asked them to do. Defensively the other team improves their basketball IQ by deciding how do they pressure the ball while the other team holds it. HS sports doesn’t have to be the NBA

@hoopstrainer @DomMirandaTV Typical basketball trainer. Zero interest in actually making kids better. How do they improve again by holding the ball and not actually doing anything?

In the 4A State Title game, Crown Point held the ball for a minute plus…. With 5 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter. No movement… as deafening boos came down from this Gainbridge Fieldhouse crowd. Indiana needs a shot clock and it needs it now.

@charlesharriso5 Our elections are as safe and fair as they have ever been. This policy is low on the totem when it comes to popular policy. The save act does not help people: -Paid family leave polls better -Raising minimum wage polls better -Expanding Medicare polls better

What bothers me about elected officials is that when 80% of the American public supports a valid photo ID to vote, and you oppose it, you're no longer representing the people but your own political ideology. This is why I am so outspoken, because I want our elected officials in Washington to work together to support common-sense 80/20 policies.

CBS News Poll: Do you favor or oppose requiring people to show valid photo ID before they are permitted to vote? 🟢 Favor: 80% 🟤 Oppose: 20% —— • Dem: 65-35 (+30) • GOP: 95-5 (+90) • Indie: 79-21 (+58) • White: 80-20 (+60) • Black: 80-20 (+60) • Hispanic: 77-23 (+55) YouGov | 3/16-19 | 2,496 A

I’ll spend a couple of days in Chicago speaking to Sports Parents! Looking forward to asking some hard questions: - Is this your dream your kids dream? - Is your student athlete worth the investment? - Does your student athletes grades support the goal?
