Frédéric Bastiat’s short masterpiece The Law (1850) is one of the most powerful defences of liberty ever written. In it, Bastiat argues that the sole legitimate purpose of law is to protect the natural rights of every individual to life, liberty and property. Law, properly understood, is simply “the organization of the natural right of lawful defence”. Yet Bastiat saw a fatal perversion: when the law goes beyond this protective role and begins to plunder some citizens to benefit others, it becomes an instrument of legalized theft. He called this “legal plunder". Once government uses force to redistribute wealth, regulate speech, impose “charity” or enforce equality of outcome, the law no longer defends rights; it violates them. Bastiat warned that every special-interest group then competes to capture the state for its own advantage - workers against employers, farmers against consumers, one region against another - turning politics into organized predation. The result is endless conflict, moral decay, and the slow destruction of liberty. In clear, elegant prose, Bastiat showed that true justice requires a limited law that restrains plunder, not one that organizes it. When the law is perverted, freedom dies under the guise of the common good.

When he doesnt smile, the evil shows.

🚨 GEERT WILDERS’ WARNING TO AMERICA Look at New York: Mayor Zohran Mamdani swore on the Quran - the Book of Hate - refuses to condemn “globalize the Intifada,” and wants Columbus statues torn down. Look at Minnesota: Ilhan Omar sneers at the country that gave her refuge while advancing Somalia’s interests in Congress. Look at Dearborn: Mayor Abdullah Hammoud told a citizen who objected to honoring a jihadist, “You’re an Islamophobe. Move out.” They want your history erased, your statues smashed, your streets renamed, and their crescents raised. They want you a stranger in your own land - apologizing for being American. Europe’s lights of freedom are almost out. America is next on the menu. You already had 9/11 .Will you rise up… or wait until it’s too late?
