BREAKING: Hollywood writers are striking. They’re fighting for their livelihoods against billion-dollar studios and streaming companies who have been squeezing writers to eke out more profits. Writers didn’t shut down Hollywood — the studios did.

In my satsuma era. My cuties era. My tangerine era. My naartjie era. They're just nature's fruity little gift, made to be unwrapped. And I'll be damned if I'm not unwrapping every damn orange in the bag

I'm so desperately curious if the design of the Terrible Dogfish from the latest @dimension20show episode was at all inspired by the whale at the house on the rock, because it gave me some flashbacks to walking under its massive mouth

Two way side streets in Minneapolis are effectively one ways right now because they still haven’t been properly cleared from the last big snowfall but the city somehow has time and resources to bulldoze tents and displace people who have nowhere else to go? Disgusting.

@NoahGuth it does seem to be a trend lately that writers (or maybe more so publishers?) are scared of ambiguity, which is disappointing because so often it gives the impression that they do not trust the reader.

@NoahGuth i don't think it's entirely new; lots of 19th century novelists loved to tell you way too much about way too much, & one of my favorite examples of "loved this book but i could not explain a thing that happens in it" is the buried giant from 2015, but (1/2)
