@hyttenhoof @_polensillo There's always going to be slop. And I'm not just advocating for chasing trends. But if your goal is to get your name out there than starting small and simple is a lot safer than some monster project that eats away your life savings, or banks on the trust of other people's money.

@hpantsu @_polensillo I just don't think it's healthy how many indie devs seem extremely analytical and trend chasing. obviously that's not all roguelike devs but I would dare say it's the majority. like they have a carte blanche for expressing their passions and they go super cynical. farm sims too

@hyttenhoof @_polensillo Not saying they don't. I loved Hylics 1 & 2. But I think its very realistic that so many indie devs stick to smaller scope games like rougelikes or arcade style games. The smaller your scope, the more likely it is that you'll actually get to release it.

@ExaurArchives @_rawrell Splitting the vote between 'selfish' and 'selfless' just proves to me that you aren't capable of imagining the question as a real scenario. Is it 'selfish' to think that 8 billion uncoordinated people under duress can't reliably come to a consensus?

If you press the red button, you are guaranteed to survive, but if you press the blue button you can brag about being a "decent heckin person" for a few minutes before you die. Apparently this is a tough choice for some people.

Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press? BE HONEST.

@pompomend You like reading a little more than the other toddlers and all the sudden you get hoisted onto a pedestal, get a big head about it, and then instantly give up when something is slightly challenging once. That's basically it.

cosleeping is how every human has always slept since the beginning of time is good for the mom and best for the baby. as long as you are healthy, is the best way to sleep with your child a SIDS campaign suppressed it by putting smokers, drunks, drug users, obese parents, and people who pass out on sofas in with healthy and normal parents and calling all of it unsafe. SIDS itself is a diagnosis of exclusion. on careful autopsy it mostly turns out to be suffocation, overlay, smothering, sometimes worse (basically parents killing their kids) for normal healthy parents the benefits of cosleeping far outweigh the risks. they always have.

@Dengekichan Every edgy, emotionally energized teenager thinks like this at some point. It's just a matter of when you realize being 14 isn't the peak of your life and you aren't above everything.

@DAKKADAKKA1 Pre 2010 is Minecraft kids, Post 2010 is Fortnite Kids. With maybe 3 years in either direction to be either or both. At least from my own observation.

@Mutemarymommy @Grxit Where I live most people seem to return their carts. But what REALLY pisses me off is that my grocery store has 2 return lanes for 2 sizes of carts and these stupid assholes mix them up which makes me angrier than if they just left them out.

@darlingstrawbie Most of us actually hit a secret, third button which was "nothing happens but we all yell at eachother like it did" And-maybe a bit of a guilty pleasure-but I love spamming the hell out of that third button.

@MadScientist_42 @_rawrell I've seen a few of those. But even the ones who seem to kind of get it keep saying "I'd rather die if blue loses anyways" and I hear that and think... seriously? If we all killed ourselves when life got bad we wouldn't be here arguing over silly hypotheticals. Get a grip!

@hpantsu @_rawrell Or an opportunity to wrap themselves in fake virtue. Most seem to think they're saving everyone...that they're Jesus and the like. (Seriously...that's what they use to prop all of this up.)

@alpha_cat4592 @hpantsu @ShitpostRock2 100% of 8.3 Billion is impossible with that knowledge you still Choose Red, if you don’t care about others and are a coward just live with that, As a Veteran who’s already risked my life for the masses who’ll never know I exist I wouldn’t expect red pushers to understand
