This kind of thinking is so dumb. Video games, especially narrative titles, have some of the best stories on offer. They also have the added advantage of the player working through the characters issues alongside said character. Anything can take over your life to the point of destruction, but to say that games don’t offer you anything is just ridiculous.
Anyone who parrots the thinking below probably never enjoyed gaming to begin with, or they look at stories and art like numbers on a spreadsheet, not experiences to be had.

@fordoglunk Probably, but I don't take any of those numbers seriously when they come from wearables or Strava estimates. I don't have a physical power meter and I also stopped a few times to enjoy the views. I don't stop my watch or Garmin when I stop riding or running.

If you are an athlete (strength, endurance, sports, idc) and aren’t doing some form of heat training, you are leaving (free) gains on the table.
Hot bath. Sauna. Mid-day run with layers. A few times per week.
Seriously.
