Trying to figure out @AERA_EdResearch 's newly introduced and unilaterally mandated conference system, a major shift from business-as-usual, with AERA's just now-training providing little comfort or support to the proletariat masses
So pumped to nerd out at the "Where Do We Go From Here (2.0)? A Continued Conversation on Motivation Theories and Their Implications for Educational Policy, Practice, and Ethnically Diverse Students" session!! @AKoenka@allan_wigfield@APADivision15#nerdout
@hr5s@APADivision15 Twitter works for public chatter, but sometimes small private groups are helpful just to test out ideas/responses that aren't ready for prime time. Not sure best platform.
@APADivision15 I think we should have a virtual scavenger hunt as we meet in each other’s homes...or cars @DrTeyaR apparently there was a great cat in one data blitz room, cute kids in another, and questionable number of books behind @AvKaplan . What did others spy?
Really enjoyed @APADivision15 's Virtual Poster Data Blitz! But I was a bit unsure of what was ruder: popping into a room and immediately interrupting to say hello to all of my friends or quietly listening to the speaker while seemingly ignoring all of my friends.
Missed the presentation of @nkucinsam & @nkuisrca work on UG research conference impact on belonging & science identity at @apadivision15 Pres Data Blitz? View our poster on Researchgate bit.ly/3hkLAXp
#APA2020: Division 15's Convention schedule has been updated to include links to our online sessions (including tomorrow's Business Meeting and Data Blitz)! Find it all here: apadiv15.org/apa2020/
Now imagine doing this virtually, sitting, waiting in a zoom room for someone to drop in. That's what we're doing to academics in the Division 15 Presidential Data Blitz!
If you have time tomorrow drop in on this poster session and ask some questions @APADivision15
Remember your first poster session? You stood there alone in front of your poster equally terrified that no one would come & that if they did they'd ask about the p value or Cronbach's alpha? At least you had the comfort of that other sad sack across the way to talk w/awkwardly
As a research mentor for the @APADivision15 Graduate Student Seminar, it was great to chat with @calahford (@P20Motivation; Ellen Usher's student) about her research on failure, feedback, & motivation! It has come full circle as Ellen was my @AERADivC GSS mentor! #PayItForward
