@hrabns @SmartRandomGuy @grok And the visigoths ( as you) were barbarian larper loosers
The reconquista was purely iberian, visigoths surrendered iberia to the moors
English

Spain 🇪🇸 was literally conquered by Tariq Ibn Ziyad a Berber

Of course he wasn’t German. Germany didn’t exist back then, and actually Visigoths come from the Scandinavian peninsula, not Germany.
Modern historiography still needs to provide proof he was an Astur-Roman, especially because Visigothic nobility wouldn’t name an Astur a king. And yes, even if it hurts you, Kingdom of Asturias is Visigothic in its origin.
The Visigoths and their deeply admiration for Rome is what preserved the Roman culture and language, and then the desire of retaking the peninsula back.
But you keep making up history.
English

@hrabns @SmartRandomGuy @grok Nope, he wasnt german
And yes, in yhe year 622 continental iberia became fully visigoth
Until the year 70p the Balear Islands were roman
20 years later arabs invaded

Does the fact that I wasn’t born in Europe matter to know about history?
You’re showing a map of 568 d.C., then you said they didn’t control all the territory a century after that.
Anyways, @grok wasn’t Pelayo a Visigothic nobleman elected by the Visigothic nobility? And wasn’t the Kingdom of “Asturias” created as a continuity of the Visigothic kingdom, following its traditions?
English

@hrabns @SmartRandomGuy This is spain im the year 568
Red = visigoth
Until the mid 600s visigoths didnt control all of iberia, few decades before the moors arrived
And nope, Pelayo & co were native iberians, not g*rmanoids
Larp as something else, you arent even european

English

Rome was long gone by the VII century (fell by 476 a. D.), and the Visigoths ruled all of Hispania, except maybe for the Basque region, which was always rebellious.
The kingdom of “Asturias” was founded by the Visigothic nobility.
Following kingdoms, like Leon first and then Castile, claimed to be the rightful heirs of those “barbarians” and “leeches”, as you call them.
English

@hrabns @SmartRandomGuy A good chunk of iberia was loyal to Rome until the 7th century
And Asturias was a native iberian kingdom that spoke latin
Germanoid barbarians just lost iberia to moors, and we had to retake it
Inmigrant leeches
English

Franks were also a ruling minority (250k approx) over a vast majority of Gallo-Romans, same situation as in Hispania (numbers of Visigoths similar to that of Franks).
Visigoths ruled Hispania for over 200 years. I don’t really know where you got the 40 years from.
The kingdom of “Asturias” was founded as a continuity of the Visigothic Kingdom.
English

@hrabns @SmartRandomGuy Nope
Frankish were ethnically the same as modern french
Visigoths were a foreign ruling minority that only ruled the whole península fot 40 years before loosing it To the arabs
English

@DCoboce @SmartRandomGuy Not really. The Visigothic kingdom is to Spain what the Frankish kingdom is to France.
English

@hrabns @SmartRandomGuy The visigothic kingdom is as spain as the roman empire is italy xD
English

@DCoboce @SmartRandomGuy It was the Visigothic kingdom, the first Spain (the first unified kingdom)
English

@SmartRandomGuy Spain wasnt conquered by anyone since spain didnt exist until the 1500

@hrabns @theapplehub Leave it to apple fanboys to only care about design and not about functionality.
Then when apple finally adds a feature they hail it as the biggest revelation of the century when it has already existed on other platforms for years.

Ah, but remember, they live in a “full democracy” and we live in a “dictatorship”.
