Heartland’s Veteran’s Day assembly was so meaningful for our students. Thank you to all our veterans who share what Veteran’s Day means to them. Also, our students collected over 1,150 tubes of chapstick for Operation Uplift. ⭐️ 🇺🇸 @bvlibraries @HRTJaguars

Wonder Wednesday was all about roller coasters today. Students enjoyed their (simulated) ride on the Mamba and Q-ba-maze marble ride engineering with their partners. @bvlibraries @HRTJaguars

Slime was on the Wonder Wednesday & Thinking Thursday menu. Learning about states of matter led to slime making for Kindergarteners. Third graders also experimented with how different liquids effect candy corn. @bvlibraries @HRTJaguars

We broke out! Second graders practiced their plant knowledge skills with a digital breakout during their Wonder Wednesday time. 🌱 @bvlibraries @HRTJaguars

Learning about our brains today included determining our left and right tendencies. HRT’s 4th & 5th graders had a great Wonder Wednesday with a variety of ⬅️➡️ learning activities. @bvlibraries @HRTJaguars

Engineering skills can be organic (5th grade Native American dwellings) or structured with crafting simple machines (4th grade Lego sets) for the latest Wonder Wednesday activities. @bvlibraries @HRTJaguars

Another round of Mathletics returned to Heartland for our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. All students participated in small groups working their way through challenging questions. @bvlibraries @HRTJaguars

Learning about our Native American culture was enriched by viewing and handling these authentic artifacts. Our 5th graders always welcome this lesson. @bvlibraries @HRTJaguars

It’s been a week of research for our 2nd (creepy crawly critters) and 3rd graders (Kansas City landmarks). Research takes time and persistence, which these students are learning. 🕷️🏛️@bvlibraries @HRTJaguars

The HRT ROAR Store is back! Each Friday that we are in session, The Roar Store will open from 8:25-8:40am in the front entrance. We will be selling a variety of supplies from 25 cents to $1.00. Only American cash accepted. All profits will go to a charity TBD at a later date.

4th graders worked in small groups to create claymation videos while identifying 7 parts of a plant. Hands on learning can be both exciting and creative. Here’s a wonderful example. 🌻@bvlibraries @HRTJaguars
