@hudfirst And it also seems like most of the things rachel added to shane she did randomly & with very limited understanding on the struggles of those archetypes (she maybe genuinely believes she gave him a healthy, non complex character)

@hudfirst Its easier for many people to empathize with depression (& grief which is universal), whilst theres a general lack of understanding about autism, high-functioning anxiety, model minority, maladaptive perfectionism, disordered eating, etc +

this shows many ppl struggle to understand the complexity of characters who don’t fit a stereotype of trauma. reminds me of rachel saying shane doesn’t have trauma as a closeted, gay, autistic asian in a white heterosexual environment
