if you know 2 languages, your native language and English, you didn't really learn another language. given how prominent it is, it's more like learning 0.5 languages. on the other hand, a English native speaker learning another language is like learning 1.5 languages

Nintendo of Europe’s English localisations are simplified for ESL speakers, whereas those from Nintendo of America, for some reason, are very US-centric and not at all accessible.
The issue is that, in 2017, they stopped including European English localisations for most games...

I’ve said this before, but one issue that EN game localizations have that most other languages don’t is that the EN audience is much more ldiverse, with a significant portion of the players not being native speakers, let alone sharing a cultural background (1/2)

also, unlike katakana, english spelling doesn't have a fixed pronunciation
and when you combine that with the fact that there's a lot of languages that use the latin alphabet it means that there's a lot less "adaptation" of the foreign word

@haruhiprophet English basically has every sound from most languages within it, so you can always write a word a certain way to make it pronounce in its original way. Japanese, on the other hand, has far fewer sounds, so it’s more understandable they adapt it.
