@hugobosnl @electricfelix What hardware do you use? I guess you need a special inverter that works off grid. Do you also need a special charger?

@schneider_chris @electricfelix With EVs becoming cheaper than their ICE equivalents, we will see a change soon i think. As long as AC charging infrastructure gets the much needed boost.

@schneider_chris @electricfelix Car ownership is already the cheapest in Europe so there are very little financial incentives to buy new. I dont have numbers to back it up but i feel people tend to drive older cars and will keep driving until the wheels fall off.

@schneider_chris @electricfelix I'm off grid so w/o the ability to export it's very difficult to tell the full ability of the system. I need some more time and data, but yes, the amount of sunny days is staggering compared to NL/DE. Now in Dec I'm not using any public charging and drive >1000km per month

@hugobosnl @electricfelix Nice. I would be interested how your PV fares in Summer vs Winter. In Germany I got about 1/6 of energy in worst Winter months compared to best summer months. I guess this must be much better in Spain.

I am not fundamentally for or against any technology. I simply note that clean, modern diesels are not aligned with the policy to phase out diesels.

1st time I spot a car with Icelandic 🇮🇸 plates in Spain, and it is a Tesla charging in la Roca Village Supercharger ⚡️ Had a chat with the owners and they came from Rotterdam (took a ferry until there) and are just using the trip planner, they say it just works smoothly 😎
