@genvmiller My partner is French so I know France had the best yoghurt in Europe easily. It makes sense Canada would know what’s good. We live in Sweden right now and for all their dairy, they don’t do good yogurts. Enjoy !

@AlexStrook This is so much work. Well done! I remember just how long it took to support controllers and rebinding. Do you also support mouse/touch input as well as game pad on menus? Managing navigation, especially between screens / pop ups just takes so much time

Stop calling it a video game crash. That implies that it's like some sort of uncontrollable force of the market. You can't have a crash (at least in the U.S.) when the market was up 4% yoy in 2023. That's the opposite of a crash! This is execs mimicking growth by cutting costs.

I tried creating a customizable sword smear rig in Blender that can be imported directly into game engines without requiring custom shaders. This way, i don't have to manually add sword slash VFX in the editor and hope they match the animation timing in-game lol

Yesterday we biked all over town in Kanasawa. Bought a "happy bag" with souvenirs, which also was to help the people affected by the Ishikawa earthquake. I also bought some honey candy from a 200 year old store! 🍯🐝 As you can see, structures in Kanasawa City are mostly fine!

@ko_dll @AlexStrook It could be a lot of things. The easiest way to find out your cause is to use the profiler. If it doesn’t tell you exactly what the issue is, then try enabling Deep profiling (this has a performance cost).

@AlexStrook Nice! Thanks for the tip! I have one question - I have a small drop in fps once particles (even very simple ones) are being emitted for the first time even though I am preloading resources - Could it be the solution for these small FPS drops?

@elvismdd If you need to use Unity events I would recommend adding the listener you need via code. I also would try to keep the script/responsibility as close to the component with the event so it’s not a mystery to determine.

❗️ A question for #gamedev #unity fellows ❗️ How do you deal with a bunch of Unity Events calling C# methods from all over your scene? I find it pretty difficult to track where the calls come from later in the project. "Find References In Scene" doesn't seem to help either.
