Recently, I had the pleasure to meet one of the Indian-origin billionaires, and one piece of advice from that conversation stayed with me: Have patience and perseverance. It sounds simple, but for anyone building in startups, investing in founders, or creating long-term impact, it could not be more relevant. meaningful companies are not built overnight. Great ideas take time to mature. Strong businesses take time to scale. Real impact takes time to compound. Patience gives you the ability to stay grounded through uncertainty. Perseverance gives you the strength to keep moving when the journey gets difficult. In a world that often celebrates speed, it is easy to forget that enduring value is usually created by those who can stay committed for the long run. Last night I attended Future of AI at @join_ef big thanks to Rob Ferguson for sharing his perspective on where things are heading. My key takeaways: • AI costs are becoming a real business constraint (right alongside headcount). • Physics still matters: latency + bandwidth + data gravity shape what's viable, especially for video/audio. • The product loop matters as much as the model: monitoring + measurement + iteration build trust. • Competition/bundling pressure is inevitable once you have traction, plan differentiation early. • "Agents" mean different things to different people; being explicit about definition and success metrics matters.

It was a pleasure attending the event at Silicon Valley AI Hub in Menlo Park, with an incredible panel of accomplished athletes turned operators and investors. Three founder lessons worth keeping. Ryan Murphy (9x Olympic Medalist): "The greatest indicator of long-term success is consistency over time." Founder takeaway: Startups are won through sustained execution, not random bursts of intensity. Ty Montgomery (Former NFL Athlete): "Burn the ships. Don't give yourself a way out." Founder takeaway: Commit fully. If you leave yourself an easy fallback, you split your focus and dilute execution. Peter Cipollone (Olympian and Founder): "You don't practice until you get it right, you practice until you can't get it wrong." Founder takeaway: In the early stages, keep iterating until users pull the product from you. Optimize for repeatability, not just effort. One more line from Pete that every founder should remember: "It's never as good as it seems when it's really good, and it's never as bad as it seems when it's really bad." That's startup life. It's easy to optimize for degrees, titles, or "big-name" logos. But in the real world, what matters is what you can build, ship, and improve. Throughout this hackathon, we saw builders from every corner of the world deliver exceptional work. And this time, our winner is from Nepal🇳🇵not because of where they're from, and not because of credentials, but because they produced the strongest outcome.
