Something nice. I just saw Director Bryan Fuller’s “Dust Bunny.” It’s fantastic and I won’t even try to describe it. Recommend. youtu.be/lQqmOjPDlWg?si…

I’ve heard lots of nonsense from people who don’t live in the Twin Cities about how dangerous it is here. I’ve never felt afraid to go to Minneapolis until now, with thousands of clearly under-trained, unidentified, masked and armed individuals exceeding all norms of policing.

@restlesspix We’re aware it’s an issue, and it’s always good to get feedback to help inform our plans.

I'm at IBC this year, finally able to publicly show and discuss a project I've been leading in secret at Adobe for some time that's finally hit public beta, which is new color management in Premiere Pro! I came out of blog retirement to write more at: vanhurkman.com/wordpress/?p=4…

@avideomakr The color management settings are also available in sequence settings and the new sequence dialog, just as the source settings are available in Modify > Color, so you can ignore the Lumetri settings panel if you want.

I commend the #PremierePro team led by @hurkman for the expansive color management options in the new beta. This is long over due. But they need to untie the settings from the Lumetri panel. It needs to go into sequence settings. With that said, I'm still against #Adobe's cavalier stance of taking Adobe Stock user's content to train their AI programs and claiming it was licensed with no way to opt-out. #postchat #videoediting @restlesspix

@restlesspix That's on the long term roadmap; thanks for the concrete example, it's good to know where the exceptions are coming from...

Taking a road trip, and reminded that the curse of channel surfing FM radio is constantly and only finding the ends of songs you like.

I’ve never not gotten goosebumps listening to this piece, with or without the visuals of the movie.

This alarm - which we incorrectly believed was tied to an old home alarm system - went off last week. For internet points: what is it for?

Hard to believe it’s been 7 years since I had the opportunity to shadow legendary director/producer Tsui Hark on the set of his collaboration with Stephen Chow. Such a great experience that enlarged how I think about directing and color, and wonderful meeting such a great team.

With the new issue of Human Target hitting stands next week, I thought it would be a good time for another process thread. This one concerns what I consider the most important element of my work on HT - contrast.

“Three Thousand Years of Longing” is a spectacular, thoughtful, and romantic tale written and visualized beautifully. Swinton and Elba give lovely performances. Recommend.

Took a while, but I finally started watching the “Wheel of Time” series on Amazon, and really liked it! Some great storytelling, interesting characters, and it’s well made. If you’re into fantasy, this has a lot to offer even in a world w/House of Dragons and The Rings of Power.
