@YugoEnjoyer @Deuszq asking the average complainer about logic behind what they're saying is like if you're talking to a wall. Their intelligence is low to comprehend how good the new update logistically is

Can someone inform me as to why roblox plus is such a bad thing. To me it just looks like cheaper premium with way more perks

@hustleonpoint @gronkybonky @LegendOJ1_RBLX looks like you wrote a lot of words, huh. but what about my idea, where roblox spends 100% of income hiring human moderators and uhhh also everyone has perfect internet safety knowledge?

People don't realize that we can't have nice things when people abuse them. We either let bad actors make games freely or we put up walls to deter them from doing so, pretty simple. The Roblox community talks and yells a lot but rarely proposes meaningful solutions to the child safety issues on the platform. And it's not as straightforward as "hiring more mods". Roblox has not taken away anyone's ability to create games freely - you can still make games for personal enjoyment without any age verification. This was how I and many others started as a young dev, just making games for the fun of it, not caring about having any players at all. For those who have games that have players, the likelihood of a game with any CCU at all making at least $5 a month to cover the Roblox Plus costs is actually pretty high. Most people who have games that have any players will most likely be able to afford Roblox Plus just from the game's revenue alone. Not to mention Roblox Plus is actually a pretty good-looking subscription anyway. The perks seem actually meaningful unlike the current Premium situation. People should see it as just another cost of running a business, no different to the money that already goes towards advertising or hiring devs. It's also worth noting that anyone in the DevEx program already has their ID verified, and if people are worried about having to verify their ID but they want to make games that make them money, they must realize that ID verification is already a requirement to cash that revenue out. To be able to publish games to kids, I fully agree with the type of vetting process that Roblox is proposing. The sole reason that bad actors slip through the cracks so often right now is because of a lack of vetting. It's unfortunate that it has to come to this, but these requirements will undoubtedly deter many bad actors who publish inappropriate content to kids. The one thing about this update that needs some more thought is the lengthy process of getting your game approved for All Ages. Realistically, most Roblox devs are going to be making games that kids will play. To restrict games to ages 16+ by default and have devs wait potentially WEEKS to be accessible to their target audience is a pretty annoying process. I think there is room to streamline this process as it seems like the only thing I can argue with about the whole change. Overall, this change shouldn't be as controversial as it has become. It's the easiest way to stop new inappropriate material surfacing on the platform. Will people still slip through the cracks? Sure, it can't be perfect and some people are willing to take the risk. But it will deter a lot of people who would've otherwise been free to publish that type of content. There are definitely flaws, but I think people underestimate Roblox's willingness to change things based on backlash. We should work together to come up with alternatives and fixes to these flaws rather than storming with pitchforks. On a final note though, I think most of this anger comes from Roblox constantly changing stuff rather than coming up with one policy that they stick to. It's like they rush features out then add the clarification and fixes later when people are already mad. They need to think through things more thoroughly and be more engaged with the community to gather an opinion on changes before they go live. It's no secret in Roblox's history that people don't like sudden changes, and the spree of sudden changes recently has really riled people up.

Roblox is changing the eligibility to upload games on the platform. To publish for all ages, you now need: - Roblox Plus; - ID Verification & Age Check; - 2-Step Verification enabled; - and have your account in "good standing". Roblox will additionally run games through trials to ensure engagement is legitimate and not from fake or bot accounts. To publish for Ages 16+ & Trusted Friends, you now need: - An account in "good standing"; - An age check; and - An account that is at least 2 days old. Any user on the platform, whether they meet any of the requirements, can still publish games for personal use. Roblox is stating they chose this requirements because "most creators already meet many of the criteria" and it will "make it more difficult for bad actors to bypass our moderation systems". Lastly, Roblox will make that transition by providing 100,000 users with a Free Roblox Plus subscription for 6 months. To be eligible, a user may have a minimum of 100 hours of total playtime on their game in the past month & no major violations of Roblox's Community Standards.

this means that i'd have to pay 25 hard earned Reais (Brazil's currency) every month in order to keep making silly games for my own entertainment, since their stupid new policies will prevent games from non "plus" users from going public this, in my opinion is just moronic.

@Roblox_RTC I agree about the age check, id verification and 2 step as well as the need to have your account be a specific age but why does roblox plus have to be required? Its dumb as is because roblox takes a massive cut of dev ex, the money you make from ugcs, as well as the costs of it

@ggdfghbfcc47203 @Roblox_RTC When you mentioned age troup partition i stopped taking your comments seriously because i'm sorry but you're alarming for having a problem of children not talking with adults or individuals who are more mature. You're just weird at this point

@Roblox_RTC I think this is one of the worst updates. Even more than the chat age group partition. "publish, analyze, and iterate with ease", that''s what they said. What is it now? "You need to pay $5 a month before you can publish a game on Roblox that allows all users to play."

@gronkybonky @LegendOJ1_RBLX without even thinking it trough logically. Like i'm at a point where i just look at the roblox community with a palm face because EVERY SINGLE RIGHTFUL DECISION is still hated on even though the community wanted it in the first place. make it make sense.

@gronkybonky @LegendOJ1_RBLX everytime i go on twitter and roblox makes an update, even good ones that are logically GOOD, players still find a way to hate and curse on roblox. Especially some content creators, they make a statement of their own, and their audience take their opinion and hop on the bandwagon

I know A LOT of people hate this change... but this is actually a pretty W update when it comes to keeping kids safe on the platform. The world wanted Roblox to be held more accountable for the games published on their platforms... the community wanted the same. Cut the problem off at the start by making it a lot harder to publish the games in the first place. I'm sure there will be some refinement (and those serious about making good games will adapt) but if we want to push the bad actors off the platform, making it harder and more public for them is the way to do it. Want to make a game that promotes nefarious things to kids? Now your name and face are attached to it.

@x_lncy @TweenService + there's dozens of talented developers that could be also in a financial crisis and can't afford to buy this that easily, and roblox now has basically scrapped their dreams away by this update

@x_lncy @TweenService Yes it is, 5 dollars is nothing, but it's still an extremely bad decision considering most devs on roblox have been making games since they were kids. Now kids/teens that will try to make a game and put it out have a paywall infront of them, especially from lower economy countrs
