While I’m not a Sea of Thieves Partner, I can still make my stance clear. I’m appalled by how this situation has been handled by the Community Management team at @RareLtd. I want an official statement from @SeaOfThieves, and I want accountability and meaningful action taken against those on the CM & Mod team who overlooked/ignored the previous evidence, removed messages raising concerns, and elevated individuals into Boatswain positions despite prior warning signs, and in some cases, even defended Bruno after these concerns were raised. Until that happens, I’m taking a step back from #SeaOfThieves

Dear @JoeNeate1 @grumpydoggy , I’m reaching out to express interest in discussing current, or near future employment opportunities within the community management space surrounding @seaofthieves. Having spent significant time immersed in the creator and player ecosystem, I’ve gained an unusually clear view of where community trust is being won, lost, and actively damaged. Very few people understand the current landscape from both the creator and player perspective the way I do, and fewer still would be willing to address it directly. I look forward to discussing this further, so I can demonstrate exactly what I will bring to the role, and the wider community. My extensive list of references are available upon request. At this point, I genuinely think the entire community management side of Sea of Thieves needs a serious overhaul. Wipe the slate clean and start fresh. Right now, the current structure feels like it’s doing more harm than good for both the community experience and the game’s image. A lot of these roles no longer are earned through leadership, or merit, or community impact. Instead it's favoritism and personal connections with the CM team. And the result of that is now an echo chamber environment, where sycophants gets rewarded over honesty, accountability, or engagement with the playerbase. To be clear, not every Boatswain or Moderator is part of the problem. There are a few players in these positions who are passionate about the game, respectful toward players, and genuinely care about the community. This criticism is not aimed at them. The issue is the culture that has formed around these roles. Some Moderators and Boatswains have started acting less like community representatives and more like gatekeepers of the "safe space" itself. Players are regularly belittled, dismissed, or pushed away for being new, or asking questions, or criticizing the game, or for simply enjoying different playstyles different to those in these roles. That should never be acceptable in a community built around a shared love for the game. And let’s be clear about something, this is not “your” space. It belongs to the entire community. You just moderate it. Being a Boatswain or Moderator does not place you above other players in the space. While Boatswains and Mods are not the same, the people elevated as representatives of the community should be individuals who encourage discussion, welcome new and returning players, handle criticism maturely, and reflect the best parts of Sea of Thieves and its community. Both publicly and privately. Not contribute to division, favoritism, hostility, or unhinged egos. Article 2 of the Pirate Code: "The Sea Unites Us as One Community" Start enforcing that mindset. Both in-game and out. Players should feel welcomed into the community, not talked down to or pushed aside. And going forward, Rare’s community management team seriously needs to reevaluate how these positions are chosen and represented. A nomination-based system with higher standards, accountability, and actual good community involvement would be much healthier. No more “they’re my friend, they’d be a good fit”. We all love this game. So please listen to the community feedback when it comes to this. A healthier culture and players better suited to these roles would benefit both the current and future players of Sea of Thieves itself. @SeaOfThieves @RareLtd #SeaOfThieves
