@ValerieComplex I think all of it was guilt & shame put into a context that he would be able to grasp with in those times. Being haunted by her image, it’s easier for him to view her as Athena and work through that guilt & trauma than as what she really was and who he had really become.

How did you interpret Athena’s reveal in The Odyssey.
Been hearing diff theories, all fascinating.
SPOILER: for me, I think its seen as a betrayal of the Gods, and him betraying one that helped him the most.
