When people say a comic character adaptation is ashamed of its source material they usually mean it was too afraid to go goofy and flashy, but The Punisher netflix is genuinely one of the biggest examples of comic source material shame I've ever seen.

Daredevil season 2 built up to Frank Castle becoming the full comic Punisher, and then his solo show had him immediately burn that outfit and kept him in a rotation of quitting being the Punisher, and he only wore the full comic look again for three seconds at the end of season 2
