@Making_Ripples @BeneskiMuseum @geology_johnson Stunning. Rippling over sands for top left. Then presumably there was a mud coating over the interference ripples before infilling with sands to give the other two surfaces - presumably soles of beds infilling interference ripples.

What made these honeycomb patterns on these mudstone slabs? Was it a dinosaur who took a nap? If you thought that, you're not alone! Many visitors guessed that, but this honeycomb pattern was formed when shallow waters rippled in a criss crossing pattern over mud. #FossilFriday
