@mamboitaliano__ This wasn't a bureaucratic failure, it was a violation of local safety laws. The Maldives strictly bans recreational diving past 30m. A local officer died trying to find individuals who illegally went to 60m into a deep cave. Tech recovery requires global experts, not a circus.

🚨 This tragedy in the Maldives teaches us just one thing These tropical paradises are beautiful only when everything goes well, when you are under a palm tree drinking your cocktail 🍹 Otherwise, whenever something goes wrong, it always turns into a completely insane circus of bureaucracy, poor management, administrative difficulties, and rescue complications In fact, this time as well, they first sent one of their officers to his death, a poor man who lost his life because he was effectively sent in unprepared And now Finnish members of a non-profit organization have had to intervene to locate and, soon, recover these bodies and therefore shed light on what happened So basically, when you travel to tropical places, you always have to cross your fingers, be careful, and hope everything goes well, because if something goes wrong, things are often truly poorly handled

@yoosufmaaniu What specific "bottlenecks" was the Trade Facilitation Unit meant to fix that the Ministry is still ignoring? Hard data on those blocks would be a goldmine for an investigation.

Did you know that we had the opportunity to acquire hundreds and millions of wealth for Maldivians through trade. Especially international trade, I had tried to establish an International Trade Facilitation Unit at Customs for this purpose, but the Government didn't want it, because it would enrich the general public and create many millionaires which in turn crate private jobs which would cause the Government to loose control of enslavement of people by providing Government jobs, driving the state bankrupt by paying government workers by printing money without sustainable economic activities. Journalists should do some investigating and see what the Economic ministry does and see how it blocks private businesses from growing. This might not be done on purpose but by ignorance. But this is happening.

Once the upcoming election is over, the Maldives will face one of the toughest periods in its history. Electricity, fuel, jobs, education, and many other sectors will be affected. The government is spending millions to secure an election they already know they have lost. #StormIsComing

@ameen3d @MMuizzu 650k+ for a parking slot is not a solution for the 'Greater Malé Area', it's a real estate business. People shouldn't have to spend more on a parking spot than their actual vehicle. We need public infrastructure, not luxury auctions.

A new phase in improving mobility across the Greater Malé Area. Construction of 7 parking buildings will begin soon, delivering 2,600+ spaces for four-wheel vehicles and 1,000 for two-wheelers. Under the guidance of President @MMuizzu , this initiative will address parking challenges, reduce congestion and illegal roadside parking, and improve road safety.

@mohamedfiraq Being a "high-end visitor" shouldn't grant immunity from national laws. Carrying a $1M+ religious heirloom naturally requires deep vetting. We should support our authorities for being thorough rather than demanding exceptions based on wealth.

A family arrived at Maafaru Airport by private jet on their way to Soneva Resort. The father was carrying a religious family heirloom, over million usd and he was held by customs for nearly three hours for inspection. Although he has now been released by customs, the police are still keeping the family on hold. We would like to understand the reason for this delay and why the guests are still being held. Situations like this raise concerns about how we handle high-end visitors arriving to stay at our luxury resorts. It is important that such matters are addressed promptly and handled with sensitivity so that we can continue to welcome elite tourists to the Maldives without unnecessary inconvenience. If possible, could the relevant authorities kindly clarify the situation and assist in resolving this matter as soon as possible.

@SaudVillingili Maybe do some research before tweeting nonsense. Even in international waters, maritime distress is handled through SAR regions. If the vessel was near Sri Lanka, the responsible authority is Sri Lanka, not MNDF.

Why was MNDF assistance not immediately launched in response to the Iranian Navy vessel’s distress message? Under international maritime law, responding to distress at sea is not optional - it is a mandatory humanitarian obligation. Lives at sea must always come before politics

One has to admire the creative liberty Maldivian takes with the concept of a schedule. Booking isn't a commitment; it's just a filing system for your preferences. They'll kindly curate the actual date and hour for you later. A bespoke service nobody asked for. @MaldivianAero

@DhivehiOne @lucasjalyl True, but the sensors at Hanimaadhoo showed that 90% of this haze is actually industrial soot and sulfur, not dust... 😄

@iAihami @lucasjalyl thanks.. ...Some aerosols may be natural in origin, such as dust. Air inversions, when a warmer layer of air up high holds cooler air trapped close to the ground, are common in this region in winter and play an important role in creating lingering haze.... 😃

India should compensate the Maldives for the toxic haze and associated public-health risks. The Maldives contributes **less than 0.01% of global carbon emissions (some estimates place it as low as 0.003%). Maldives remains among the nations most vulnerable to climate change and pollution. The Maldives is forced to bear the consequences of pollution generated by our neighbors and elsewhere, including hazardous air quality that threaten public health, livelihoods, and the tourism-dependent economy. Compensate Maldives NOW!

@DhivehiOne @lucasjalyl Science shows this isn't "nature", it's transboundary pollution. We shouldn't have to bear the health costs of our neighbors industrialization.

@misbah5415 @taxidrivers_mv It's not about people not wanting to pay, it's about the lack of a modern system. Fixed prices in a city with this much traffic makes no sense. We need dynamic, app-based fares that account for peak hours and delays.

@misbah5415 @MMuizzu @ameen3d What exactly are you showing from this? That the loan was for a taxi to be used in Malé? We know that. But where does it say the government is responsible for your garage letter?

Mr. President @MMuizzu and @ameen3d this is beyond unfair. The previous government approved SME taxi loans. And the loans were released by this government. The cars arrived under your government. You still haven’t given a way to register them yet now you’re towing the same vehicles you left stranded. And on top of that, we are forced to pay monthly loan installments for cars we are not even allowed to use. How is this justice? How is this governance? Hardworking drivers are being crushed by a problem created entirely by the system not by us. This is called heartless you don't even have any humanity. This is cruelty and bullying by power and ego. 🤬🤬

@misbah5415 @MMuizzu @ameen3d Call it what you want. I'm ready to admit I'm wrong if I am not well informed on this. So please, show me. Where exactly in the agreement or any document was it mentioned that the loan included registration or waived the garage requirement?

Talking shit when you never knew the real story. Government This loan was never meant to be just for a car. It was a government backed scheme that explicitly included registration. People applied in good faith, trusting the state’s promise. They didn’t take personal risks or try to bypass the law they relied on an official policy. Changing the rules after the fact and punishing citizens for trusting the government is unjust. 🤦‍♂️

@misbah5415 @MMuizzu @ameen3d Since when does a government loan override the Law? You applied for the loan knowing you didn't have a garage. That's not "trusting the system" that's trying to game it.

@iAihami @MMuizzu @ameen3d Citizens aren’t criminals for trusting the government’s own systems and approvals. If the state allows imports, releases loans, collects duties, and then blocks registration afterward, the fault isn’t with ordinary people trying to survive it’s with poor governance
