@BGeltzNBA It also, unintentionally, created more space and a different angle between him and Strus that made recovering more difficult. Not saying he couldn't have still disrupted the put back, but...man, so many little things fell perfectly for a Boston besides the actual Smart shot lol

Derrick White was THE INBOUNDER on this play! In less than 3 seconds, he: 1) Inbounded the ball. 2) Spaced to the corner for a potential kick-back pass. 3) Read Smart's shot and crashed the glass. 4) Tipped in the game-winner. Just an absurd basketball IQ and high-effort play.

@NekiasNBA but don't those adjustments need to have positive results? Not sarcasm, but is saying a coach tried X different things and they just didn't work *THAT* much better than them not making adjustments at all?

2) my general takeaway is that we (collectively) have to do a better job of accepting that sometimes adjustments just *don't* work -- it doesn't mean they haven't happened.

feel like i never see what “coaching adjustments” are. just a complaint that they don’t happen without further explanation. this is nice clarity on what that means as a non-basketball head

@prim_siripipat Players saying a season was a failure in a press conference and players treating their offseason work like it was a failure are 2 different things, too. Think it's a safe assumption that Giannis falls into the latter group, which Bucks fans should want, imo

I think there can be multiple truths. 1) It was a fair question but I’d never ask due to trigger word “failure.” 2) Giannis’s response was amazing/true that disappointments r stepping stones. 3) Disagree w/ Giannis that “there r no failures in sports.” Failure is subjective.

I took an interview course once and the instructor’s suggested practice was that journalists avoid trigger words. The word failure is what set Giannis off. But I don’t know if you get the same amazing response from him if you use the word disappointed. Tough call.
