@GenScript @iGEM Our product will hopefully be applied in local industries in Canada to reduce the amount of waste we send to landfills in other lower-income countries, where marginalized folks deal with the environmental repercussions of our actions!

@GenScript @iGEM We hope to generate an industrially viable solution to address plastic pollution. Our solution encompasses using machine learning, bioreactors, and the thermodynamically/catalytically favourable enzyme, PETase, that can degrade PET polymers into two reusable end products.

Plastic waste is a detrimental problem for our planet. To encourage individuals to reduce their plastic waste footprint, the HP team is bringing out the creativity with a community wellness challenge: the best-upcycled product generated from plastic waste will win.

Wet Lab’s final stage includes designing a cost-effective bioreactor that can maximize the purified product yield as well as support the optimal efficacy of microbial degradation. This bioreactor can be used in industrial circular economies to degrade and obtain PET byproducts.

DryLab aims to develop an inhibitor using predictive machine translational models for the coronavirus protein, as an attempt to provide a potential solution. By working alongside the HP economics team, they hope to generate economically feasible PETase and inhibitor variants.
