@MarathonGameHQ this is just the beginning, classic bungie back to it's roots. Soon anything difficult to get on the pvepvp side will be obtainable on the pve only side as well. Once they add a 6v6 playlist I will buy this game and play daily!

A PvE-only mode is coming to Marathon in the second half of Season 2.

@VivaLaDoctor Trust me when I say this is just the start, over time bungie will make it so much more easy for casuals to get stuff and in time it won't be considered a high skill ceiling extraction shooter.

Here's why I don't believe PvE will break the game. A main tenant of the game has always and will always be "high risk, high reward". The devs aren't going to abandon this sentiment. The PvE mode must not break this for the game. In the article from yesterday it said that in playing the PvE mode you will be "making some progress across matches". The keyword there being "SOME". I think the mode is going to be there as a way for folks to level up and complete contracts primarily. And while it will be easier, it will take you a lot longer to level up and rank up your factions if you only ever play PvE. This is purely speculation, but I also believe that the devs know that they can't ruin the loot economy. As such I figure they won't be putting high tiered gear in the PvE play mode. Folks playing PvE specifically would, IMO, really only get good gear through faction upgrades and unlocking purchases in the armory. Obviously, this is all speculation, but this is how i feel the game mode might be laid out based on the article.

@PaulTassi I would actually buy the game if they added a pvp mode. Not into extraction shooters so that's the reason it's not for me, the pve is not enough to bring me in if that's the only thing that gets added.

If Marathon adds pure PvE and PvP modes I 100% guarantee they will be far more popular than what the actual game is supposed to be

@NiftyN00b It's not a better pvp, D2 will always make more money and when the new expansion drops it will have more viewers then when season 2 for marathon drops. One fact is that marathon will never reach D2 numbers

Actually liked when Cross was making good content for the game but if he is just gonna turn into a doom poster that shit is sad, he really just wants more Destiny to farm out content on his niche. Imma say it Destiny 2 has felt dead since the light n dark saga ended. We need a D3 in a few years but Marathon is the focus and had everything stacked against it even YouTubers like him making doom posts constantly for views. Truth is Marathon is a better pvp, and a better looter shooter than Destiny. The loot has value and is way easier to understand it's value, & build crafting. Destiny has always felt like there was too many cooks in the kitchen. Lore and story told poorly through the game. crap endgame unless you had constant people to play with. terrible pvp. terrible player on-boarding... the list goes on...
