@bentgrassdoctor Those recommendations are from pathologists and agronomists. Avg heights I’m seeing on visits are more like 0.095-1.05. I’d probably err on the side of Clarke and Murphy but it’s not really realistic anymore.

When I first got into the business in the 1960's the most common cutting height for greens was 3/16 inch or .187 or 6 mm. Now .110 or 2.8 mm is common. Drs. Clarke & Murphy at Rutgers advise .125 or 3.2 mm for the most healthy cut for greens.

Miles Russell was introduced to golf by his dad Joe and grandpa Ron at age 2. Russell brought his dad inside the ropes to caddie on the 72nd hole in his first U.S. Open. A Father's Day they'll never forget ❤️

The Divot Guy Frank is at LaGuardia. If anyone recognizes him and calls him out I get a free steak dinner. Twitter do your thing. #usopen
PGA TOUR@PGATOUR

This is Frank.   He is one of the 200+ unsung heroes volunteering to help with agronomy this week @USOpenGolf.   Today alone Frank will fill over 1,000 divots around Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.   He woke up this morning at 2 a.m. to begin his 4 a.m. shift.   People from all around the world come to help out this week. Frank traveled 600 miles from North Carolina.   "For me this is a World Cup, World Series, national championship rolled into one. There's so much preparation that goes into this. It's phenomenal. Golf course superintendents are an incredible community. I wasn't going to miss this."

@GolfGamesHQ Until about 6pm. Should be interesting to see if the final groups light up the back nine if the wind slows.

Just can’t change any of the setup. Course can be mowed and prepped. Once first round is done they then change holes and setup for round 2
